I'd see them going off on it about all the things that are wrong with it. max speeds, ships going slower than most aircraft, autoleveling, non-realistic conservation of energy, and no thrusters to change direction.

Think about the OP's proposal for a minute.

Do we really want the sort of people who enjoy watching TBBT to start playing EVE?

I enjoy watching TBBT and been playing this game longer than that. It comforts me because the cast is more likely to play WOW or Age of Conan and I have hope for players of EVE Online.

Maybe ... such as, Sheldon finds out that Will Wheaton is a big cheese in EvE, Sheldon tries to learn EvE to destroy Wheaton's space empire, but instead gets repeatedly ganked mining Veldspar in his Iteron I. He also pays ransom to a pirate, but gets podded anyway, and the pirate turns out to be Penny.
