So you gonna use your Windows Desktop for eve, and your linux laptop for other stuff?
With what do you need our help?

But yes, if you ask a more specific question i am sure we can help :)

Well depending on your linux skill set Gentoo might not be the best idea. It is one of the most difficult distributions to handle mainly due to the fact that you pretty much compile everything from scratch and making a mistake can cost you a lot of time because you will need to recompile the affected packages again with the fixes. Some things don't take much time to compile while others can take several hours to compile.

An intermediate distribution that has some similarities with Gentoo is Arch linux. It is also a rolling release distribution, but it doesn't require you to compile everything from scratch which means you will not need as much time to install something as on Gentoo. Arch Linux also has an excellent wiki to help you out setting up your system.

If on the other hand you already have quite some experience with setting up Linux systems and you really want to step up your game, then by all means Gentoo is the way to go :-)
