I need to raise my standings with a particular race and am going to try an assault frigate. I have not flown the Jaguar before, but, I do have one and am putting T2 200mm autocannons on it. Am not sure what I should do on the med and low slots. Any help will be appreciated. Thx in advance.

When you say raise your Standings d you mean PvE?

What type of PvE? Exploration Complexes (What lvl), Level 2-3-4 Missions, Belt Ratting or Amons?

Best to know what you are up against.

Yo Kahless! I'm really happy for you and I'm gonna let you finish. But the Wolf is one of the best AF of all time! One of the best AF of all time!!!

Optimal range bonus ... damage bonus ... to me this screams artillery, not autocannons. I've got a jag fitted with 280mm arties, and I freaking love it. The fitting is something like this ...

3x 280mm Artillery II
Standard Missile Launcher II

1mn Microwarp Drive II
Warp Disruptor II
Small Capacitor Booster II
Small Shield Extender II

2x Micro Auxiliary Power Control II
Co-Processor II
Tracking Enhancer II

Small Projectile Collision Accelerator II
Small Projectile Metastasis Adjuster II

The tank might seem a little weak, but at 2,688m/s and potentially over 1,000 damage per volley, combined with a tackle that will last as long as your cap boosters do, this thing works very well as both a tackler and a weapons platform versus other small ships. Most interceptor pilots won't know what hit them the moment your guns line up a solid shot. In the hands of a good frigate pilot, lining up solid shots isn't that big a problem.

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

'A' for effort - but three fitting mods is no bueno. Try this:

High:
280mm II x 3
Mid:
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive
Small Cap Booster II
PWNGE TP
Warp Disruptor II
Low:
MAPC
TE II x 2
Gyro II
Rigs:
Projectile Collision I x 2
OR
Projectile Collision II
Projectile Locus Coordinator

The latter rig setup gives you that 1k alpha with close range faction at optimal 16km and falloff 18km. The two tracking enhancers and target painter give you much better tracking as well.

That fit has less surviveability, however. A good, close range interceptor pilot would take you out. Or stray shots from larger ships. The extra buffer from the small shield extender may not seem like much, but when most shots only graze you (if that) it helps a lot.

Also, my fit assumes that you're a heavy tackler for a small roaming gang, ideally with scimitar support. Tough enough to keep the tackle going, hits hard enough to swat away other small ships or help a little taking down larger targets.

**EDIT** Right, I missed that he's trying to use it for PvE ... new advice: go with a Wolf, dude.

**EDIT AGAIN** On second thought, I really have no valid advice on this because I really, really hate PvE so much that I suck at it. I try not to do much of anything that involves NPCs. So ... carry on. Good luck, have fun.

If tank is more important I would downsize to 250mm II's- especially I I'm part of a larger group with scimitar support.

for the SOE arc and general L1 grinding, I'm thinking:

[Wolf, SOE]
Small Armor Repairer II
Damage Control II
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Tracking Enhancer II

1MN Afterburner II
Small Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 100

200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
[empty high slot]

Small Projectile Collision Accelerator I

[Wolf, SOE 2]
Small Armor Repairer II
Damage Control II
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Tracking Enhancer II

1MN Afterburner II
Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron

200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
200mm AutoCannon II, Phased Plasma S
[empty high slot]

Small Projectile Collision Accelerator I
Small Anti-Kinetic Pump I

I don't know much about Wolf vs Jag for this purpose, but here's my idea anyways (original and then after fiddling with it). The rep is for when you're warping home and you could probably do it with a T1 rep to save isk. I dont think you need a web but that could be wrong. This is totally untested, never flown an AF before... Also if you don't use the TP you can avoid having to use an implant for +1% CPU, so ... probably don't bother with the TP for these missions as a result, I guess. Any ideas? An empty mid wouldn't be the worst case, I guess.

Also, how about an Enyo or whatever... I will be able to fly it at the same time, so that is an option, and I also have good drone skills.

[Enyo, SOE]
Small Armor Repairer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Patterned Stasis Web I
1MN Afterburner II

Light Ion Blaster II, Antimatter Charge S
Light Ion Blaster II, Antimatter Charge S

Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

Hobgoblin II x1

That could work?

Anyways, hopefully some of you guys can comment on these setups for this purpose. I know it's pretty lame since just about everything can do these missions, but I'm curious. I could use a destroyer too if htat would be better than an AF for this job lol. Also I'm not sure if it would be better to use the heaviest guns on this ship instead of the ions.

Also, how would an AF work for L2 missions? I know you CAN do certain L4 with them but I 'm not really interested in that. :)
