Eve might have more than it's fair share of dishonest people. For example, there are 7,000 pilots in Goonswarm and I imagine that a lot of them were "in on the joke".

However, I think most people feel more confortable being good and honest.

Yes, you're right - the Goons have a webpage (on a different website) saying that if you part with ISK to join then you're a fool.

However, this dosn't make it right.

Until now, I think the Goonswarm's reputation comes from beating BoB and their 'Something Awful' forums.

Just from looking at the map they've stretched themselves thin and are pissing everyone off they come into contact with, even noobs who might have otherwise joined up and fought with them, they're pretty much done already, it's just a question of how long people will stay in denial about it.

Why would you ever trust a GOON? You said yourself they are going out of their way to be the bad guys in EVE so why trust them?

EVE is like some kind of dystopian universe where there was a battle between good (BoB) and evil (GOONs) but because no hero stepped in, GOONs won. I actually like the GOONs in the way they make politics in this game interesting. But I would never trust one of them.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop [u]cryptozoologist[/u]! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

Let me recap this:
OP got scammed in Eve Online.
Not by just anyone, but to everybody's surprise by Goons.
And now he is asking everyone to join his NPC corp in declaring war on GSF, because we all surely care.
