How does a ninja looter get into my mission pocket if I'm the one who has the mission?

Because your giant ship is in space in the mission and they can probe and find your ship.

because you are missioning from a mission hub and not a good mission system

He uses combat probes in a scanning ship to find where your ship is. He is most likely just scanning down any battleship but it's also possible, however unlikely, he's just after you.

If he's just after you he will have probably watched you undock while he had probes aligned on the station. Once he has your ship's ' number plate' (e.g. ABC-123) then he can scan it down anytime he wants.

My advice? Just completely ignore him. He's most likely either really new, and the salvage / loot he steals is of value, or he's mainly interested in getting you to shoot at him so he can come back and gank you. If you completely ignore him, and continue missioning, then he will pretty quickly lose interest and move on.

other ppl advise stuff like shooting your wrecks or complicated ways to try kill him. IMO it's much easier, and equal fun, just to make it clear that he matters not a bit.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Declare war. That's what the feature is for. War declaration.

Yup. And it is always amazing how quickly this makes them utterly stop playing the game. Lol
