Well to me I always felt that the Space Jockeys were connected, I don't think it's a coincidence that they have bio mechanical ships (Yay Gallente) with perfectly engineered bio weapons inside. So since Prometheus is exploring the Space Jockey mythology I feel that it will touch on the Xenomorphs, even if they're not directly featured. It also might explain why the Aliens are so compatible with humans or maybe we'll even see one in its original form... all we've seen are human/animal Alien hybrids.

After all, the distress signal might not be why they landed on LV-426 (Holy **** I actually remember that planets name). Ash the psychotic undercover android was secretly in contact with the company after they found the Xeno... maybe he was instructed before hand to pass that planet... maybe Prometheus reveals that the company was aware of something on that planet.

As for Star Wars, I love the original trilogy, but if I had to choose to watch 2 out of 3 films I'd choose the last two. Don't get me wrong, I like A New Hope, but it's kinda simple compared to the other two. Although the scene where Han shoots Greedo will always be my favourite.

We are living in the dark ages of cinema making.

Never has the technology been so good, but never has there been an utter lack of creativity, originality or thought provoking content in modern movies today. Everything is either a remake or a sequel done to the nth degree or a prequel of sorts.

I haven't seen a good movie in ages and not for a lack of trying.

So I guess 'Moon' passed you by? Or 'Sourcecode' ? Didn't get a chance to see 'Super 8' perhaps? Or Apollo 18? Or 'Dream house'? Or what about 'Insidious'? Or 'Paul'?

All of these were original films released this year, and unless you are speaking about genre (which is a another department I could debate you in should you wish to take a future debate in that direction) all of these films had original characters with original scripts.

Even Disney released an original film this year instead of rehashing their prior work, or using an existing children's book and adapting it. Admitably, it was a documentary on African cats, but at least they are trying.

Oh, and SuckerPunch is another original film, ironically.

I liked the Cargo Film has quite a mood for dark sci-fi without being much of a thriller.

On the Other hand i don't know if much ppl consider canon the War on Earth alien comic books, but there was some kind of info about what the jockey are or are trying to do.

I heard they were doing a blade runner remake wonder how good that will be as well. Sadly I think I am the only person who isnt too big of a fan metioned in this thread. Thought alien was too survival orientated, and couldnt get long enough shots of the aliens. Especially with how cool they are. Loved the alien action figures when younger.

Also sadly the blade runner story is too much for me to take mostly. Not sure what I feel about a remake or about watching it. Propably end up like avatar did. Watch once it comes to HBO for as long as I can before I have to change the channel.

One thing I really really dislike about modern film is this obnoxious habit to de-saturate everything, which makes everything in the film have this slightly blue-gray-ish tone that makes everything look unnatural.

Even more common in CG heavy scenes too. Bleh!
