The usual problem is re-using passwords. Hackers in poor countries make money by busting into forums that use obsolete software, and then steal the password/username/email database. They then sell password-email pairs for a few dollars.

People that want to bust into eve accounts buy these cheap lists, and see if they can get matches to actual accounts.

If you use a unique log in name and password for EVE ( and maybe even an email just for gaming accounts only, and not forum use ), you won't get "hacked".

No ****, two days after I read this GM NOVA gave a char I bought on the char. bazaar a warning and took more than 1.5b isk of herEvil
Account is now minus 300m isk and no word back from CCP

I have a petition in as its clear that the transaction took place before char was sold but its still a major PITA .
Anyway, moral is careful how hard you laugh, it may just be your name CCP pull out of the hat next week. Sad

Looks to me like CCP has once again screwed up. Whether it be constant issues with the payment systems or the complete inability to properly hold their tongue and maintain some professional decorum. Trolling is for the player base, not the employees of the company.

But whining takes up so much of the player bases time, the GM's need to take up some of the trolling slack.
