Is there a limit to the number of warfare links I can fit to a damnation if I have enough command processors fitted? EFT says I can fit 6, (3 armor, 3 shield) with enough command processors and cpu upgrades. But EFT wont allow basically the same fit when trying a nighthawk. I'm wondering if EFT is bugged or something or is it allowed?

The Damnation, Eos, Claymore and Vulture are fleet command ships that have a role bonus of allowing 3 warfare links in addition to the 99% reduction in warfare link module CPU needs.

The Absolution, Astarte, Sleipnir and Nighthawk are field command ships that generally pack more punch but are more limited in their fleet boosting potential and thus don't have the role bonus allowing for more than one warfare link module without any command processors.

Your mistake was comparing the fleet command ship of one race to the field command ship or another.

Ahh thanks so much, I mistakenly thought the nighthawk was the fleet variety.

You can in fact fit 7 on the vulture without too much trouble.

Those dedicated command ships can perma-run 7 link modules. Their T3 equivalents can run 6.

The T3s, however, provide greater maximal boost in their specialty area (e.g. tengu = seige).

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
