on CCP Dern's demise: A gentle suggestion to CCP

From what I understand CCP dev are in the game all the time. they are the only ones with access to JOVE space and equipment but do not always stay there.

I just wish there were ways in Game to get there. rare worm holes, hidden gates, special missions, just something.

Maybe there is and nobody has found it yet.

I actually saw a Dev in another game once a long time ago. It was EQOA on playstation 2. she was a troll but was all white with angel wings and a really cool looking epic weapon.

If you see a dev in game it only makes sense that they will be flying/using something not normally available.

I am just surprised the JOVE ship he was flying was not invulnerable to normal weapons. Devs in game out side of test servers are generally in some kind of god mode.

devs need to learn to fly better, how did they get ganked by those idiots?

When I was in The Bastards, they had some very good pilots and some very motivated pilots. Far as I know, they are also one of the few groups who will *always* honor their ransoms. They may not always offer one, but if they do, they honor it, so I don't know what your on about...

Agree with the OP, they should have got to keep the Enigma, its not game breaking, no one could use it and it would have been a unique reward for a very special kill.

Plus, its not a CCP ship, they were testing a new ship they are thinking of giving as a reward to bug hunters(which are player volunteers).

Why it was on TQ and not SiSi eludes me, but it could just be that they wanted to see how it held up under real conditions (instead of aranged fights on SiSi).

I think letting the pirates keep the ship, let the drama over who gets it play out, and then hunting the ship down with a special events character would be the best way to handle it. If it ever undocks, CCP will be out hunting it. If it never undocks, then it doesn't hurt the game for someone to have it.

Oh, and as for CCP employees getting shot, FA had CCP TomB tackled off a station for hours in a polaris frigate, but we never managed to kill it(he logged off and we managed to bubble and aggress him, best moment ever). I still think we should put together a disco BS fleet.

FYI, unlockable, 99.9% resists, 10k armor, 6k shields, like 150k hull, 8x large hull reppers, one of every DD weapon, a 13km cloak breaking smartbomb, a 40+km smartbomb, and thats just the OPness off the top of my head.

Too bad I had stranded myself in the next region over by running out of jump fuel in a no station system :/

I think CCP shouldnt have yoinked the enigma from the bastards in the first place. They earned it fair and square and considering the ship requires a skill (or skills, not even sure) that no player has access to under any circumstances, the enigma would have been just another collector's item.

2 plex instead of an enigma... that hurts, you know?

What?

The Cockroach is one of the BH's staple ships they've been using for years. It's not a reward of any kind. It's most certainly a CCP ship.
The Enigma is also a CCP ship and they've got a couple of versions. A godly (but killable) version that's better than the "normal" Jove ships, and the amusing invulnerable version that they trot out occasionally on SISI for laughs.

I still remember one of the previous SISI testing days when one of the devs (might have been TomB) took out an Enigma and tanked it up the wazoo when they turned all of SISI to 0.0, surviving hundreds of players shooting at him.

This is the ONLY part where a banning could have been justified. You do not have enough information to say if this was the case. If CCP Dern had instructed them to stop and they did not, than MAYBE they would be banned. I don't think that instruction was likely given though. I think CCP Dern just screwed up. That's not preventing a CCP employee from doing their job, that blowing up a ship with an inattentive pilot.

Bumblefck, if I ever commit a REAL crime and end up in front of the judge, I hope someone like you is the prosecutor.

Except this is no court room and we player have no rights whatsoever.

But if you like; CCP Dern is prosecutor, jury and judge, nobody else is, and if he state "Meh, you messing with my ship is obstructing my work" then that is it.

That is why the props go to him for being a stand up guy and not taking that action but instead acknowledge the effort with an appropriate reward. No need for a new tech 5 Miner incident, you know.

There have been a dozen threads on this before, and honestly, be thankful their reward was PLEXs and not a ban, as would be the case in quite a few games.

Really? You think they could have gotten banned? What's the charge? Isn't any target of opportunity fair game?

Actually, it's one of the very first things in the Terms of Service:

You may not abuse, harass or threaten another player or authorized representative of CCP, including customer service personnel and volunteers. This includes, but is not limited to: petitioning with false information in an attempt to gain from it or have someone else suffer from it; sending excessive e-mails, EVE-mails or petitions; obstructing CCP Employees from doing their jobs; refusal to follow the instructions of a CCP Employee;

although, as an aside, I think this line (it's the very last thing to be listed):

or implying favoritism by a CCP Employee.

Is absolute bullshit

They were very lucky they were not banned and I am in the process of writing an email to CCP's Internal Affairs department.

you see this guy he has on an item from the nex store that automatically makes him a troll and he should be ignored.

Ya ccp ****** up, take away **** worth omg billions and give 2 plexs? wtf?

Also all you morons saying they should not have killed the CCP tard.

CCP has ships with 99.9% resists... that players flat out just can't damage... um They have ships you can't lock...

FLY ONE OF THOSE IF YOU DON'T WANTA DIE. or O ****... MOD THAT ONE...

Like maybe if CCP played the game, it be better... like um... I want that "undo" button when I forget to do something like cloak...

Look at the new overview "stargate XXX" yep cause, I really wanta see "stargate" first... not just the damn name.

Nother example of not playing the game I am sure they just spawn themselfs where they wanta be... anyone who FLYS around would have said "OMG WUT A BAD PLAN"

They would have sold it to Entity (the dude who has to have one of everything) for an ungodly sum of isk, many billions, much much more than 2 plex.

I'd pay 50 bil right now to have it sitting in my hanger knowing I can't fly it (yet!). Entity would pay a lot more.

What I find annoying is that the BH ship was actually targetable..

Once upon a time during a CCP sponsored 'swap meet' with Zymurgist and a few of the older GM types, Zym was zooming around the Moon 20 station in his Polaris Frigate... I undock in a Suicide Pest.. and couldn't lock it. I really wanted to kill that guy too (as I'm pretty sure any of the old C&P people did).

Taking it off them WAS a bit of a jerk-y move, but they WERE interfering in CCP business.

Besides. They're pirates. The REAL booty can't be taken away from them; they're the ones that killed a dev and took his shiny unflyable ship. They can prove it. They've got the killmail on record.
They have bragging rights. They can win pissing contests easily. Their deeds will be remembered.

*salutes*
This really is a game for complete dicks. Even the devs know that, and play along.

I am happy any time I see a dev have to put up with the same camp/blob/kill-everything-that-moves crap that players have to put up with.

Like those polaris fleets getting blob-stomped for example.

Might be an enlightening experience.
