Is the Minmatar Republic descending into savagery after having rejected the Gallente ideals that it was founded on?

Gutter Press investigated some alarming and disturbing stories coming out of Minmatar space in recent weeks.

Violence against women appears to be on the rise, with a bathtub-flying pilot confessing to beating women. This pilot was poorly regarded by other pilots, one Caldari stating they were: "Just some Minmatar woman beater. Nobody of note."
Several other pilots were quick to chip in, stating that: "Tribal savages reject Federal ideals, fly bathtubs, beat women"

Amazing!

The Tribal Liberation Force is also part of this moral disintegration. Confronted with the evidence of widespread prisoner abuse and cannibalism amongst Republic military forces, a TLF officer said: " We're a tribal people, not complete savages. Most of us know how to get food from the land. We don't need to eat each other."
Or, as a different pilot said: "TLF denies knowledge of cannibalism caused by abandonment of Gallente ideology."

Sensational!

We asked some Amarr pilots for their opinions, which were predictable.
We also asked some Gallente pilots, one of which said: "This is exactly what I predicted would happen, when the Republic abandoned Gallente idealism. Bunch of subsidy junkies anyway. Everyone knows they couldn't do anything without Gallente aid, and now you just see them doing the same old thing again. Sooner the Republic becomes Federation space and we can clean it up, the better."

Incredible!

Gutter Press will continue to promote Federal ideals, and be wary of bathtub flying women beaters.

Well, if the latter is true, then that's the best idea Malateu Shakor's ever had! And to think I'd had him pegged as just another un-disciplined knee-jerk revanchist hot-head that only knows how to play to our collective inner reptile...

(And I'll have you know, our appreciation for fine bathtubs is infinitely more...complex...than anything that could even be touched upon here)

You haven't met many Minmatar women, have you?

If you consult such learned persons as Luminaire General Inhonores, you'd see that the Parliamentary Republic was created from the social wasteland of post-rebellion Heimatar, and was constituted along similar lines to the successful Senate system of the Federation, who played a pivotal role in bringing Freedom and Democracy to the newly liberated people of Minmatar.

Less hilarious, and more completely expected.

By and large, PIE and its pilots have rather predictable responses to things like this, with very rare exceptions. If it highlights something bad or unseemly about the Empire or its Empress, or something good about another group, it's unbalanced, biased, unfair and simply untrue. But if it says something good about the Empire, or something bad about another group, it's completely balanced, unbiased, fair and completely truthful.

No empire or faction in existence can claim to be absolute good, nor can many be claimed (by others or themselves) to be absolute evil. All have their pros and cons, their goods and bads, their pillars of society and their criminals. There is rarely just mere black and white in life - as the saying goes, it is all shades of grey.

Don't trust anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.
