Hi

I've found plenty of info on this topic, but even the most recent, specific ones contained stuff about learning skills, so I decided to take the risk of flaming and ask you guys advice.

I want to train up a pure Minmatar frig pilot with emphasis on rifters, AFs and stealth bombers. Stealth bombers in particular.
I'm almost coming from scratch with some SP in racial frig, gunnery and navigation skills to a total of around 4M SP.
My question to you is:
What should I train for and in which order to make the most effective use of my time?

Evemon -> Ships explorer and add to skill plan everything mandatory and recommended skills and certificates for a riifter, wolf, jaguar and you will have nice base plan for your toon. Since Minnie ships struggle with fitting you have to pay attention to support skills like electronics, engeineering, navigation (minnie frigs are speed junkies :)) so core certificates are must have at least on basic but better take them to standard level.

Of course there is always a problem of 1 skill at a time so you have to do your own priorities. Use Evehq or EFT to fit a cookie rifter and check whats skills you need for that and train them first. You most definitely want use t2 guns and overheating so Small Projectile Turrets (or Autocannons? not sure right now) and Thermodynamics as high as you can. Thermo requires Science at 4 as far as I remember so you will have to put it in you plan too.

After getting all essential fitting skills to be able to fit cookie rifter with t2 gunz, tank and gank mods you can go after higher levels of core certificates. Elite is quite a long way in most cases but standard or improved should be possible to make after 4 months or sth like that. Higher you take them more flexibility you will have in fittings and fight situations (better tank will give you more survival, better navigation -> more speed and agility so better GTFO just in case, etc.).

Use common sense, read what you can, play with Evemon, EFT and /or Evehq but most important try not to forget to have fun.

Take in mind that, a stealth bomber requires quite some missile skills to become very effective.

Thank you for your inputs, I'll try Evemon with the fits I plan to use (didn't know that was even possible, though).

Well, there is an option to import a fit into Evemon but I never used it so have no opinion about it.

BUT...

There is Item browser where you can filter items with different filters and most important one I would say is "Item I cannot use". Select this and check T2 in list below and you will see all T2 items your skills are not enough for. When you navigate to item you are interested in you will see what skills are required for it and possibly what certificates are recommended. This way you can create training plan for your toon.

Alternatively you can use Evehq, create fitting you want to use and if you lack of skills either for a ship or for any of used modules you will see red frame around square button near top left corner of fitting window. When you click on that button you will see list of needed skills for this fit.

At least this is how I bounce with that kind of problems :)

EDIT:

Evemon has also one more nice function. In ship browser you have a link "Battleclinic loadouts". This will lead you to a window with list of fittings posted on BC and you can select one of them and if you like it you can use button "Add to plan" and it will put all related skills into your training plan. BC loadouts are considered mostly low quality but when you have no idea what even is possible to use it can be some kind of starting point.
