Currently I am in the process of reading "Templar One" and it gave me an idea...

I think we all are very impressed with the addition of the nebulas in the most recent crucible expansion. It gives you a reference for position in space and makes it seem just a bit bigger and more distinctive. This got me thinking of how this could transition into wormhole space.

We may not have huge nebulas in WH's like K-Space, but we do have spatial phenomena (most WH's anyway) that make our space distinctive. For those who don't know the "J-sig" that we reference WH's by is just the closest feature in space that we know of, be it a quasar or binary star or whatever. These, as far as I can tell from my research, are not necessarily referencing the phenomena that effects our ships (could be wrong). This means that the number of Black Holes, Pulsars and the like are far fewer in number then combined total of systems w/ these effects.

For those who don't know, WH's have certain types of effects in the system that change some multipliers in the calculations of things like ship speed, shield strength and so on. The higher the "Class" of WH the stronger the effect is, be it a positive effect or a negative one.

At this point I started wondering why a C6 Black Hole is so different then a C1 Black hole. The logical conclusion (to me) of this is that the C6 system is very near to the Black Hole where the C1 is much farther out.

The reason I went through my thought process is to propose this:

We add new skyboxes to WH space. Higher class WH's will have the spatial phenomena taking up a much larger portion of the skybox then a lower class WH would.

Not to crazy IMO. What this would mean is that CCP would need to create 3-6 new skyboxes for each of the different types (6 not counting no effect space). I don't see this as a monumental task or change, but I wanted to make sure it made sense before posting anything.

TL;DR: K-Space nebula like skyboxes for WH space based on class/phenomena.

Please reply if you think I'm off base or you see holes in my logic. I love learning new things about WH space and the rules that govern it.

This is a really good idea. While they are at it...CCP should remove all of the old Nebulae from WH space since it just looks like crap compared to what is in K-Space and just seems more out of place now.

I was expecting to get either downvoted into the basement, or have a huge hole in my logic that was glaringly obvious.


This is honestly kind of just my jumping off point for an **bigger** idea i had. :)


This makes me think of all the systems that are "linked" by the same spatial phenomena. Lets say there are a grand total of 10 actual Black Holes in all of WH space. With all this logic held, that would mean a hole subset available C1-C6 WH's would be associated to the same group, lets call it "Black hole A".


We know the the sleepers are in fact humans... more or less. Basically a subset of humans that split off 12k years ago, and are the predecessors to the Jove. Sleepers are in fact clones that have a combination of genetic and biological modifications made to them during growth. This gives them a drone-ish feel to them (I fall back to borg). While these may seem like mindless drones they do have the same "will to live" that we do.


I kill these suckers by the barrel full... and i bet they are kinda pissed. A rotating "WH-Incursion" of sleepers would be sweet. They would *attack* "Black hole A" and all C1-C6 black holes associated with it would be in a state similar to the incursion effect in K-space. This could allow for even more crazy effects to be added while still scaling the effect by proximity to that effect (the black hole in this case). You could add in a *new* fun set of changes to W-Space that further increase the randomness of WH's.


Lets not forget about the awesome Sleeper battle sites that would appear in all of "Black hole A's" effected systems!! These would be obviously more akin to the incursions seen in K-Space... A longer more complicated battle that takes a coordinated group to do. These would scale in a similar manner to the way anom's and sig's scale today, w/ C1's being much easier to do then a C6 (and w/ a much smaller group btw).


Add in some sweet loot and "boss sleeper" drops and i think it would be a hit. This would make it even more tempting for pilots to try out W-space (which is always great fun no matter which side of the auto cannons your on) and you give us WH space pilots break our routine every now and again. You let this, for lack of a better word "Incursion", persist for a set time then let it move on.


Just some ideas... Honestly im just glad my first reddit submission wasn't a total failure. :)

Btw Dust players are made/cloned from the same *"not fully understood"* technology as sleepers ... so yha. Link that up some how.
