Mountains to Molehills issues

I'm having some serious issues with the "Mountains to Molehills" tutorial storyline.
At some point I was provided with a 2 run copy of a civilian afterburner blueprint. I've followed the tutorial tips and set up the manufacturing process. Since it was supposed to take about 4 minutes or so, I decided to do a mining trip in the mean time. Upon returning I found that the blueprint was gone, manufacturing list was clear and yet the afterburners were nowhere to be found.
That was a bit frustrating, but I simply bought them off the market and thus completed the mission.

However, a couple of missions later I was given yet another blueprint - this time for a cap booster. So, once again, i clicked manufacturing, picked a slot and a blueprint but this time all I got was a following message:

"You have reached the limit of your abilities for running concurrent factory slots. You are currently running 1 slots and you can at most handle 1".

If i'm understanding it correctly, it would mean that I cannot manufacture anything since I'm in the process of manufacturing something else... Except there's nothing else that I could manufacture. I only have this one blueprint I just received upon accepting the mission. There's nothing else in my science and manufacturing table.

This is all the more frustrating because industry is the aspect of the game that I find the most interesting. Is there something I'm missing? Or is it some kind of a bug? I'd love some advice about what to do.

go into Science and Industry (kind of looks like two scientist dudes looking at a blackboard), and on the "Jobs" tab set to something like "Any, Any, Any, Me, Universe" in the selection boxes, then click "get jobs".

You'll see one entry (your afterburner) sitting there as "Ready". Since you likely don't have any skills in remote manufacturing, dock up at the station the job was installed at, choose the job, and then click "Deliver". That'll free up your slot, and allow you to build your new item.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Thanks a lot! I'd never figure it out on my own that "getting jobs" means receiving the things I produced. I thought it was for getting missions or suchlike. Oh well, I'll know now. Thanks again.

What Velicitia said + your blueprint will reappear in Items window once production is finished and final product delivered. You can then use it again (if it's a Blueprint Original or any jobs are left on Blueprint Copy). Don't make the same mistake as I did and don't buy many blueprints...

glad to hear you found/delivered it Cool

Least you have a tutorial about S&I ... back when I started, the "tutorials" were effectively:

1. this is a gun, shoot stuff with it
2. this is a miner, shoot rocks with it.

3. (after ignoring the CONCORD warning, and getting exploded by a rather decent pirate) lowsec is dangerous ... also you shouldn't dual tank your Tristan with shield/armour ... here's a million ISK to get you back on your feet

Ooh back in those days yeah. Tutorial was like 4 pop ups and actually all it said was, thanks for subscribing to EVE Online, here is a rookie ship with some crappy stuff and a bit of ISK and good luck.

BTW, new players, read the tutorial screen or any screen that actually pops up. It will contain useful or important information. By auto-accepting a screen as I though I know what it said I found out you cant' use out of corp alts to make your freigther warp faster by webs, using out of corp alt means CONCORD will see it as an agressive act and you will notice your pod is in space very quickly.

This.

Always, always, ALWAYS click through, read and digest the mini-tutorials that pop up during the training missions. That's where most of your knowledge will come from.
