OK, I have a stupid but question. Say that you make Trauma Heavy Missiles from a Blue Print with Manufacturing Efficiency of 100. The cost is around 43.52 per unit to make. Now say that you also run missions for Caldari Navy and you decide to upgrade 5,000 units to Caldari Navy Trauma Heavy Missiles for 3,000,000 ISK and 3,000 LP; your cost per unit is 643.52. But how do you price the LP?

What is the price of the item on the market?


LPU = LP/ unit == 3000/5000 == 0.6

Market price = Cost of manufacture + cost/lp * LPU

solve for cost/lp

cost/lp == (Market price - cost of manufacture)/ LPU

so if the market price for the Caldari Navy blah blah is 50 for example
then
cost/lp == (50-43.52) / .6 == 10.8 ISK/LP

Granted this is based on my most assuredly flawed price above, but you should get the point.

I believe rule of thumb is 1000 isk per LP.

market prices fluctuate according to demand some LP store items are worth less than they should be using this rule but I never sell a LP item unless I can get at least 1000 isk per LP.

Which does a lot of the hard math for you.

600 ISK/LP is pretty easy but not great return. 1000 ISK/LP is rather nice. 1500 ISK/LP is possible, and there's a few things in the 2500+ range.
