That's easy, don't pay attention to them, works great for me.

What the US doesnt seem to realise is THERE WILL BE NO NEGOTIATIONS.

There is nothing to negotiate.

The Falklands are our Soverign territories and the people that live on the islands wish it to remain.

Maybe if the Argies care so much for this island they'd care to help locate and remove all the friggin landmines they left.

Why Obama feels that the US need to dictate our foreign policy and cosy up to our 'enemies' i have no idea.

Didnt the USA sit on their hands the last time round?

They helped us with finances yes, but only a fraction of what they were feeding to the Mujahideen while they were fighting the Soviets

Probably I am not sure though. Britain seemed to handle it pretty well though.

When I say don't tolerate I mean no one will be in a hurry when Britain boot stomps them again.

I wonder if he asked the opinion of the islanders before mouthing his bit?

Incidently, we here in the UK are lapping up the irony of his commentsLol

What do you mean the US? We dont give a **** just cause Sean blow hard Penn does.

Here's the rule about Sean Penn. He just likes the under dogs...or rather hates the big one. I would go as far as to say he actually really doesnt much care for America as whole. Now i'm not the love it or leave kinda guy, but Penn I honestly think dislikes his home country. (kinda confused to why he stays with all the money he has to move else where...)

I wouldnt put too much credence in the guy as he loves Hugo Chavez... Who by the way is trying to get himself elected for life... (Seriously guys you need me a presiedent for life for your benefit...Also **** America it's the reason your life sucks.) Which I dunno about you but sounds like douchebaggery to me. If you're friends with that what does it say about you?

how frikkin long does the so called ragbag frikkin "argentine army" which consists of poorly trained poorly equiped conscripts expect to last against a battalion of highly trained highly experienced battle hardend troops who happen over 10 years experiance in warfare in iraq and afghanistan !!! .....it would be the absaloute hight of lunacy to even contemplate the idea of invasion .the most modern warship of its type in the world is down there we gotta nuclear sub lurking about down there and not forgetting the four eurofighter typhoons that are more than a bloody match for anything they could manage to send at us !

That's hilarious. It's not like both countries aren't fully functioning governments capable of talking to each other. They have, you know... diplomats, United Nations membership, access to telephones, all that.

The thing to understand about any US involvement is that South America has a lot of influence on our economy and snubbing Argentina could put us on the outs with their neighbors who sympathize with them. It looks a lot better for us to stand back and say "you guys need to work that out" than to be quiet, because then we can at least pretend to be sympathetic with both sides.

I imagine it goes something like this:

"Hey guys, you really need to talk to Argentina about those islands they want back. They're pretty mad about it," and then we whisper, "Just go over and talk to them for a little bit so they'll quit whining to us, okay? We promised we'd get you to do that much."

You gave back Hong Kong... Palestine, India, parts of Africa... Uh im missing something else... Not that I care or as Americans can tell you to do so cause well... You know.
Too be fair we did learn it from our British grand daddies first. You mother ******* knew how to build an empire! And should be proud of your progeny.

But once again Sean Penn is kinda a douche now...

we gave them back ...... with the exception of america because we eventually realised that they werent ours ... there is a subtle difference. and you cannot use hongkong in this argument ...as we only leased hongkong from china ..which ran out in 1997 and we duly returned it to china as per the agreement .the falkland islands is a totally different scenario

Too be fair you gave many of them back because colonies are expensive and WW2 bankrupt many a people.
Actually give me the gist of the FI. I can't say I know much about it other than the scuffle you had decades ago.
