Obviously many things that the CSM 6 achieved are still under wraps, however a lot of the advocacy from CSM 6 has already taken effect. Without breaking NDA, why can't CCP release older videos of the summits and chat logs of skype to show how the CSM actually works and what individuals actually accomplished? More transparency towards the player base can only help the interaction between players and developers, and it's important for the players to know just how advocacy is working for them. Obviously it's childish to compare space ships and the real world, so I'll do it anyway. C-Span exists for a reason, where is our CCP-span?

This is dumb, because part of the reason CCP devs speak freely with us is that they don't have to worry about their communications and ideas - some of which they later discard - becoming known to the general public.

IE, if a dev wants to plaster Hello Kitty all over our spaceships and the CSM shoots it down, it's not fair to the Hello Kitty dev to have his heresy later exposed. Why is that in our interests?

Because the next time the dumbass dev wants to put Hello Kitty on our spaceships, if he knows his communications would be exposed to the players, he'll just up and do it, with no communication with the CSM.

That's what happened with the anomaly nerf.

It's all well and good to howl about accountability, but private, secret communications from the devs is one of the reason that CSM6 got so much done. They know that - except for Darius 3 - we can be trusted to keep their random ideas in confidence, even if we disagree with those ideas.

Devs do not /have/ to speak to the CSM. There's no requirement that they post or interact with us. Keep that in mind.

This makes a lot of sense, I hadn't really thought about it from a development perspective, which makes my idea seem a lot more impractical. Aside from the impossible-to-scale mountain of increased transparency, is there a good way that CCP can themselves make the accomplishments of previous CSMs and to be more educational about how the CSM actually works? Would releasing their own version/"minutes" of their interaction with CSMs work?

CCP is pretty good at creating web videos for us to watch. Maybe they could cut snippets from the meetings like a high lights reel and have guard there telling us how awesome it all is while doing a handstand.

I highly doubt CCP would be able to release an all out highly informative web video over the meetings though. Much like the mittani stated.
