You could just fit Railguns to your Brutix.

Brutix has a bonus to hybrid weapons which affects both long range (railguns) and and short range (blasters) variants. Projectile bonuses on the hurricane would include artillery and autocannons the same way.

With that said, a hurricane is a better choice of ship anyway.

Autocannons (close range) are very nice. They work in their falloff so you don't have to be right up close (though better)

Arties while massive alpha, don't have the best tracking and quite slow rate of fire.

if you're new, I'd go minny ships.

Brutix is a good gank ship, but blaster range ganking is generally more of a PvP thing.

Assuming you mean suicide ganking, the brutix is ideal for ganking in 0.5 and 0.6 systems, where the concord response is long enough that your blasters raw dps outperforms the alpha of other weapon systems. ALso best for ganking miners and things you can fly right up to. Artillery are best for ganking on gates, where their range allows you to fire on a target as soon as its visible, where they might warp off before a brutix can get close enough to start attacking. The large alphastrike of artillery also means you plan to take down the target in one shot, and concord response time is irrelevant.
