Change key mapping for taking screen shots... ?

Hi!

I'd post a screenshot to show what I'm talking about, but _I can't take one_ ! Why? Well, my laptop doesn't have a Print Screen button, nor do I want to fumble around with key-combos to find one.

How can I change what key is used to take screenshots in the mac client, when there's a little lock icon to the right of the key binding? To see what I'm talking about, log in, press ESC, go to Shortcuts -> General and scroll down to Print Screen. You'll see the lock icon on the far right.

Edit: selecting the "Print Screen" entry and clicking on "Edit Shortcut" just gives me a message telling me I can't do that.

Are you on OS X or Windows? Apple computers do not have a "print screen" button. I'll assume OS X since you are posting in this forum.

To take a screenshot on OS X press (Command+shift+3)
To take screenshot of a smaller area press (command+shift+4), then a crosshair will appear and you can select the area you want to take a shot of.

Sorry, I guess I omitted that. 10.6.7 . Though the same issue (locked key bindings) applies on windows.

I found those key combos as well. My interest is in changing the key mapping so I can map those as something simpler from within the game.

Go to System Preferences, Keyboard, Keyboard Shortcuts, Screen Shots.

From there you can double click the shortcut and change it, but keep in mind that this is system wide. So if you set your Screen shot shortcut to "command+S" every time you try to use the shortcut to save, you will take a screen shot.

Edit: Update to 10.6.8 too, been out for a while and is plenty stable. Without that version you may be missing some security updates.

Thanks, but that is at best a workaround. I want to change the key from within the client, not alter my system or have to press odd key combos.

Is there a config file that contains the key bindings?

I guess F13 is not acceptable either?
