Oh, and we have a new cyno effect. It is scheduled to be out on within a week, in WIP state, without sound. We‘re looking forward to getting your feedback on it. We‘re hoping that you‘ll be spending liquid ozone like there‘s no tomorrow for the pure joy of seeing and hearing that effect.

To CCP:

If... IF... all previous functionality is there, I shall then begin cautiously to re-subscribe my accounts. Depending of course on the depth and sincerity of your penitence.

Let me guess the bug that comes with this release

Turrets starts locking random items and ships in space each time you jump

Overall .... ok i guess
it will satisfy all those who still use a ancient computer

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

Good move, CCP. Although I'm a player who likes Incarna just fine, I think providing a ship spinning screen will make some complainers...I mean players...have one less thing to complain about.

I am pleased that CCP has decided to bring back original coke... er I mean ship spinning since replacing it with new coke... er incarna

This will go a long way towards restoring the faith of coke drinke... I mean eve players everywhere

You should mark the occasion by re-branding the new release as Coke Classic... Damn... I mean as eve classic

*cough cough*
Quote:
The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy

The road to this point was rocky and mountaineous, but the highway back to the future looks smooth and level again.
Stay on the road - don't wonder in to the nex markets and you will be fine.

While I'm happy with the changes, this is a clear example of doing same work twice.

Not really, no.

This is an example of recreating old functionality in new code. It is an additional step to create code that will work in the new architecture that recreates the features you grew used to under the old architecture. Not doing the same work twice, nor copy pasting old code into the new.

Happily, this step will apparently help with some of the performance issues in Incarna... which to me is far more important than ship spinning or drag and drop functionality.... or even "immersion factors" that bother many. Still, getting all that in one go is excellent indeed.

Better (old) weapons icons and revamped cyno effects are also a big win.

Time will tell if there are any unforseen downsides to this, but so far it all looks good.

This is good news indeed. I like that you plan to implement the 'leave ship' button.

I just hope CCP doesn't think they are uber cool again just because they fix things/ add features that should have been fixed/implemented in the first place (CQ performance / shadows / ship spinning / bad icons).
The last expansion was a big beta version which will be hopefully be fixed now, nothing more!

This blog was pure win...seems like CCP is finally coming back around to reality (not that I agree with all of the whiners...I despise most of them). I hope this is a sign of many, many more good things to come.

Wow, CCP, this is one hell of an update! Although I didn't mind the new turret icons, I did miss looking at my ship in station every so often :P Thanks!

What I want to know is...What ship is that? It sure takes the cake in the "ugly as ****" contest. I hope to god that isn't something new they are planning on introducing...

Oh! Maybe that is the new CCP render of the Tornado! Change the race, flop it on it's side, make it look like a deformed whale and round it off.

Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821
