All clients drop by about 12 fps for each one open. I used to be able to do 4 clients at 60 fps no problem. Now I can't :|

Everyone running Windows Vista/ 7 that is encountering the "You must have administrator privleges" sign-in box problem try either:

A) Go to the install location on your machine, right click on the eve.exe, and then click "Run as Administrator"

or

B) Temporarily disable User-Account Control (UAC)

once you do that it SHOULD just update like normal. If not then chances are your install might have a real bug or your computer has a virus.

Mac OS X Lion is exhibiting new disconnects at random intervals, and ALWAYS when in a large fleet moving through a gate. significantly, this has not been an issue until the new 1.1.1 patch, as well as the timely release of Lion recently (including a new nvidia driver included as internal reference).

not a solid use-case scenario, but apparently this new bug thinks its mostly appropriate to do the WHEN IN RED TERRITORY!!! GAHHHHHH!

thanks for your support --Guido

I was experiencing this before the latest patch (i.e. on 1.1), but it happens much more frequently since the update to 1.1.1.

This happens especially when undocking - but also when jumping through stargates. Cry

This is with Lion 10.7 (11A511)

Having major issues on Mac OS X Snow Leopard with Incarna 1.1.1.

Rampant and random disconnects and huge graphics glitches that require me to kill the client and restart.

Confirmed! 2.78TB is indeed greater than 2^32... by quite some margin. Fortunately I only have a 1GB drive, so I can still play eve, if only it would fit!

Worked for me. Although, I made it permanent by right-clicking eve.exe and selecting Properties, then selecting the Compatibility tab and then checking the box at the bottom labeled "Run this program as an administrator".

If you have User Account Control on, you'll have to click OK when prompted with the message box saying, "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer?"

There seems to be a bug that is preventing mods from updating the ship's stats correctly.

I'm in a cheetah fitted with a cargo expander giving me 260m3 cargo space. I filled it then saw I needed more space, so bought/fitted a second expander, giving me 325.1m3 cargo space. Tried to load 12 warrior II's into cargo and received this message:

"The cargo bay is overloaded and cannot be made to fit Warrior II. It is currently only capable of fitting 200.0 units and it is currently jammed full with 260.0 units."

I tried relogging.
I tried clearing cache and relogging.
I tried undocking/redocking (I was allowed to perform this operation).
I still can't use my entire cargo space as listed on my fitting screen.

From client update #2
"Fixed an issue causing avatars to be invisible in the Captain's Quarters."
I just assumed that it was a performance upgrade to get CQ rendering faster

This was happening to me in a Bustard too:
Quote:
The cargo bay is overloaded and cannot be made to fit Coolant. It is currently only capable of fitting 7637.4375 units and it is currently jammed full with 11340.0 units.

For me, this bug only occurs when my cargohold is over the 'base' ship cargohold and I try and drop a stack of an item on top of another stack of the same item. So, if I have 8K m^3 of coolant and I try and drag one more on top of it to make a stack of 8001 in my cargohold, I'll get an error. But, if I drag the one coolant to an empty spot in my cargo then it works and I have two stacks: 8000 and 1. Once both stacks are in my cargohold, I can drop one on the other or right click->stack all and I get one stack of 8001 coolant without an error.

Docking/undocking didn't help for me, and I came across this post before I tried clearing cache/relogging, so I don't know if it would help in my case.

I am a PC user. Ever since Incarna I have had an issue where whenever I click the fitting window, no matter where I am ie in space or station, the client crashes and so do the video card drivers.

I have tried reinstalling the drivers rolling back to older ones and hard setting to vsync. I have also turned down catalyst ai as I have heard that can cause problems.

Any ideas?

ISSUES SINCE INCARNA 1.1.1 - Patch 2 (Part 1 of 2):

- SPEED VS TEMP: It appears that the speed of loading the client has reduced slightly, but the client makes my Graphics card climb from its usual 38 to 75 Celcius degrees at the login window... [shrugs]

- STILL HIGH/HOTTER GRAPHIC CARD TEMP: As stated, sitting at load up login shoots to 75 Celcius. However, even though the moment from character selection to full station environment has shorted to a surprising 45 seconds, the temp pushes an "in-CQ" idle temp of 77-81 Celcius (and ebbs and flows)... Yes computer and card fans are very clean and adequate airflow (with air conditioning present in room). Which leads to...

- HIGHER GPU AND CPU LOAD: 80-99% GPU (and CPU, verified using 3 different process monitors) all point to both Intel P4 CPU chips being used by EVE's game process itself ("ExeFile.Exe") and remains between 60-98%. Mainly the 90%+ occurs while standing idle in CQ, and when docking (every time) until the CQ fully resolves. This still applies to what used to be simple graphic occurances, like undocking and seeing the station and all surrounding objects... slowly.... one by one... load into view. Now the GPU card's "Activity" is remaining at a horrible 75%-99% constantly.

- LOWER FRAME RATES STILL: Since the above mentioned change(s), frame rate has slowed. It it dramatic when several windows are opened, sometimes resulting in a 3-10 second pause in game. This really bogs down the time it takes to sell items and use labs, as well, I've noticed.

- ALL THE LIGHTS WENT OFF: Strangely the CQ is now a very very dark cave, and most objects are translucent or missing (or you can't see their translucency because it is pitch black).
Screenshot: www.bloodstonecorp.com/cq-dark1.jpg

But if you angle the camera high enough and center it enough, you get this bug (unique view):

... STILL SEE THROUGH FLOORS AND WALLS: As reported in July, August and last week: at various angles of camera view IN CQ, the walls/floors/bed/railings/docking bay grating/etc disappears... Not only can you see that I am standing on nothing, if you angle the camera right, you can get the "lights back on", but everything is still translucent... except a very solid structure leading to a lower level and what appears to be a conduit or elevator shaft:
Screenshot: www.bloodstonecorp.com/cq-dark2.jpg

- NEW ISSUE: "OPEN SHIP HANGAR" OPTION DOES NOT WORK: It is truly bafling that even the holographic interfaces that show you the option to "Open Ship Hangar" can be clicked... but nothing happens. Useless.

- NEW ISSUE: CAMERA GETS "STUCK": Sometimes the camera won't move the environment around. You're stuck staring at your own back. Can't be reliable reproduced.

- ITEM IMAGES IN DATABASE ARE PIXEL-NOISE IMAGES: Several items' images in "Show Info" and viewed in the "Market" are messed up square images of pixellated noise. They randomize, but are more prevalent in association with blueprints, and small tractor beams, salvagers, and strip miners. This issue was reported 2010, then again in 2011 with bug report, and resolved in a later version of Incursions... and now it's back, again...

- READ MAIL STILL REMAINS "UN"READ: This happened before back in February. Then June. Then August. Since Incarna was introduced, mail from June 26 and onward some more recent odd random pieces of mail: The game is not remembering "certain" READ vs. UNREAD mail. Thus everytime you log on, there it all is, again, marked as "unread". This was petitioned and Bug Reported in February, told as "yes, this is a known issue" and yes, it was eventually fixed. Until June 20+ where, sadly, it returned... and then again around August 20-26... Aside from the last reported focal date of June 26: (Key time to review: That "1000 AUR mail notice") stays unread, and affecting oddly sporadic mail after that date. [Reported since February 2011 and then June 2011]

- RANDOM RE-FOCUSING OF CURSOR/ACTIVE WINDOW: The cursor and/or window you are in will sometimes just randomly swap around. it gets frustrating when chatting... you're typing in Corp Chat, and suddenly you see that it switched mid-sentece to Alliance Chat with a few letters of the last word you typed... erasing everything you've been typing... into oblivion.

- ONLINE/OFFLINE INDICATORS STILL NOT CORRECT: While in any chat dialog, users in my contacts list who are ONLINE show the GREEN ONLINE indicator, but now their in-station indicators indicated they are RED OFFLINE... at the same time.

- EVEGATE: These new forums seem to want to "disobey" the "Remaining Characters". What's the point of having a countdown if you can't actually post that many? (Hence why this is split into two posts...)

ISSUES SINCE INCARNA 1.1.1 - Patch 2 (Part 2 of 2):

- UPPER RIGHT CORNER WINDOW CONTROLS ARE STILL UNFIXED: The pin/minimize/maximize/close option icons on all windows in their upper-righthand corners still suffer the "either you click it just right, or it disappears for 3-5 seconds and reappears so you can try it again" bug. This has been reported and ignored for FOUR MONTHS+ now. And it's particularly annoying.

- OUT OF POD ?? Something isn't right here. If I am in a station ("out of [my] pod"), how can I make a ship ACTIVE? Obviously I can, by right clicking a ship in my Ship window and "MAKE ACTIVE". And that'ss where the conflict occurs:
If one has a ship "ACTIVE", you see it is active because it's the ship floating in your hangar view. (For those with CQ turned off, we all know that our "active ship" is the ship that we will undock with, since we selected it.) You see, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that (FOR EXAMPLE) when viewing your statistics in Eve Gate, when it says "ACTIVE SHIP"... it should actually say the ship you chose to "MAKE ACTIVE"... otherwise, you create a paradox by saying "out of pod". "OUT OF POD" may very well be your current "state of being", but go into the hangar and you'll see a floating ship in dock. For years, that has always been considered your "ACTIVE SHIP". We all can choose to "LEAVE SHIP", of course, and STILL BE IN THE STATION... In the past, when we leave a ship and are just "in our pod", well, then, yes, if you're in a station, you've technically have "left your pod". Therefore, ONLY THEN, should it say that a character is truly "OUT OF POD" (or, technically "ACTIVE SHIP: NONE"). There's the paradox... Some of us would like to know what ship we have active and ready in any station we have docked at (we want to know our active ship in that station) Fix it, please.

- MAIL COMPOSITION ERROR WITH CURSOR: Now after Patch #3, sometimes hitting the "ENTER" key while composing/responding to mail, the cursor dissappears and you now must click back into the composer UI to continue. RANDOMLY: The cursor will "hang" while typing, only to move itself to the bottom of the entire mail message, leaving what you were typing either above or at end of new message.

- SOME WINDOWS RESET THEMSELVES STILL: I bug reported this with the typical "We couldn't replicate this error. Can you be more specific?" response. How UN-specific is it when I say: Everytime I log in, my ship's cargo windows reset their location to the exact center of my screen, and revert to big block ICONS instead of plain text listing cargo content...? Shall I be specific on how frustrating this is? The size and dimensions of each window? ...?

- SOUND: Sometimes the warp sound never occurs. Sometimes a jump gate follows me after using it. Sometimes a station's internal environment stays with me when i am in space, and ironicly, sometimes the sound outside a station (radio chatter, etc) will follow me IN to the station I dock at. [shrugs]

If by "AI" you mean the tutorials "woman", hit ESC:

While in the ESC settings:
Select the "General Settings" tab.
In the middle column titled "Help", uncheck "Show Tutorials".
... And if you're sick of the "Welcome Screens" of everything you open, also uncheck "Show Welcome Pages".

I thought this was an Issue as well, but I have my Ship Hanger and Item locker attached to my station buttons. If you don't have that option active it works normal.

Ive got some minor issues and ideas to report;

Issues - 7.11.292761, EVE-EVE-TRANQUILITY, Protocol 278
  • NPC Jamming message sometimes remains after enemy is destroyed
  • Warp Tunnel broken
  • Strip Miner sounds broken
  • ALT-Click to 'Look At' is acting strange. Sometimes it jumps back to your own ship instantly, sometimes you cannot zoom all the way in (as if your own ships maximum zoom level is applied to the object your trying to view)
  • In station right clicking the autopilot route does not bring down a drop down menu like it would in space.
  • Strip miner beams passing through hulls
  • Retriever, Procuere Hurricane and thrasher all have a clicking ambient sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWS8GoosoL0
  • Retriever bump-map skin is misaligned/inverted on one side Image; http://i.imgur.com/Pjy2h.jpg
  • Retriever front lower turret is fixed too low Image; http://i.imgur.com/Pjy2h.jpg

Suggestions/ideas;
  • Server Message of the day viewable in game. (I forget to check at login screen)
  • Add HUD sliders for editing 'keep at range' and 'orbit' on the fly. Perhaps the player could define the scale or options say eight configurable pegs in the slider or something similar to the Directional Scan slider.
  • Reduce the chat window input box minimum height to one line of text high rather than the current two/three to help get more HUD clutter of screen.
  • The skill queue works as it does now with the extra ability to add two skills when they are both over 24hours.
  • Cargo Hold Idea

My PC is Windows Vista 64bit with all the latest drivers and DirectX, the soundcard is a Creative Sound Blaster 24bit 5.1
