Gday.

I have been playing EVE since mid-2006 as the player character Wusti, but my wife and 2 kids (11 and 15) know me as 44 year old Russell Stuart of Sydney, Australia.

For those that haven’t already heard the story and have been confused about how to pronounce my in-game name, think Russell -> Rusty -> Speech impediment -> Wusti. Like many – who would’ve thought I’d still be going by that name 6 years on?

My experience in EVE to date has been a rich one. Since 2007 I lead first my corp The New Era through our noob stage after our first real 0.0 corp Blood Inquisition closed its doors out in Stain. It was clear we had no clue about EVE and so retreated to build and learn in lowsec. It was here while running our trusty Level 4 missions and getting a taste for PvP and piracy, that we first laid down plans for a return to 0.0 – NPC 0.0 to be precise – and Syndicate.

After a long sojourn in Syndicate during its heyday, we moved on to sample the delights of Sov 0.0 first in the NC and then under our own banner of C0NVICTED.

So why am I boring you all with this bio?

The reason is because my candidature is not focussed on iterations of 0.0 alone. It is not focussed on ship balancing alone, it is not focused on small gangs or lowsec or war deccers or any other group.

My candidature is aimed at doing what small amount I can as your representative to improve the journey through all segments of EVE and all of those play styles.

I do not see EVE as a group of disparate mini-games in W-space, lowsec 0.0 etc., but rather as an inter-connected community in desperate need of renewal at all stages of the EVE journey.

Half the problem with null sec is that its the same old faces doing the same old s*** for the same old reasons. EVE needs a new generation and therefore it needs the where withall to develop them.

Here are just a few of the items I'm interested in taking to CCP:

Arrow Bounty system overhaul
Arrow War Dec mechanics
Arrow Sov 0.0 Industry and Outposts
Arrow iHub Upgrades
Arrow Review of comabt mechanics - frigates/cruisers/bcs/BSs/capitals/supercapitals rely on a somewhat broken system of tracking, sig radius speed and other factors that impact the ability of one class to destroy/hit another. Hull class should matter a whole lot more than it does right now.

Vote Wusti for CSM 7 for a balanced, level headed approach and true representation on CSM 7.

Wusti for CSM campaign is over - I am withdrawing effective immediately.

My own personal situation is changing soon in RL (god help me it looks like Im going back to Uni again as part of a planned career change), so my campaign terminates today. If by some miracle I managed to get up into an alternate spot, it's an absolute certainty that I won't the time to devote to do it justice now.

In my view, the guys who've been there done that and want another crack should be given that opportunity as the first CSM to achieve anything of any significance at all - made easy by CCP of course, but still they got a decent job done and pulled the CSM out of the cess-pit of irrelevancy.

The other candidates who should get a run, instead of blatant politicians and thought followers like Hans Blitzerjagen, should in fact be duders like Malcanis who actually came up with ideas in the first place. I think that to be effective in the CSM, being able to come up with original ideas and thoguhts instead of just an assembled package of other peoples ideas is important. The CSM will have its politicians and specialist advocates no matter what else happens so getting some people with genuine creativity and thought will be important to flesh out the other positions.

It'll be important who the overall CSM "team" is as CSM6 proved beyond all doubt that teamwork defines its success (or otherwise).

I would've like to have been able to be a part of that - but everyone comes to the point where they need to make decisions about the allocation and prioritisation of time and resources.

This is one of those.

I have a family, kids, work, a corp and an alliance that all compete for my time - and adding CSM duties to it at a time when my RL stuff is planning on heating up is crazy ****.

All I can do is thank you all for your LIKES and support - and I'm sure some of you will be disappointed, but is the big scheme of things, Family > RL > Corp > Alliance > Greater EVE Community via the CSM is the order fo priorities - and so CSM is the thing that gets cut.

Sorry I left it so long to make the decision - but CSM is now officially off my agenda - for good.

I don't think anyone who's ever had any sort of conversation with you would ever describe you as 'balanced' or 'level headed.'

Isn't that why Bandert is running your alliance now?

Well its a relative term so take it as you will, and Bandert remaining on running the day to day operations of AIF I would say is a testament to my balanced and level-headed take on things. Please post with your main next time though.

You lost me there mate. I can however honestly say that I look forward to the day when Moon goo ceases to be a major funding element of 0.0 alliances, and it become far more player activity based. This sort of system would've made many small alliances lives easier in the past - and of course small alliance's leaders too. Cool

As much as I like FKRUN and Waukesha and like alot of what I see about them - AIF and TNERA pre-date FKRUN so your assertion doesn't make alot of sense.

Also we have a slightly different orientation and aim to FKRUN at alliance level. They are more sharply focussed than us on "elite PvP" and AIF is more about building community as well as a PvP focus.

I did however enjoy your smack down in Delve a while ago though Big smile

Hey Woosters, we should talk about refining your platform and coming up with something a little more concise so you can drum up some support. Hit me up and we'll see what we can't do about putting a stronger platform forward and see if we can get you in the top 14.
