1. BF2 Mod Project Reality
2. EVE Online
3. Mount & Blade (Warband, With Fire and Sword)

Planet-Side

To this day people tell me they've never heard of it. SoE's people have said some crap in interviews about how 'the world was not ready' and Planet-Side 2 will do better now... but they didn't advertise it worth a damn, cancelled their F2P model, refused to do combo subs with it and MMO's, on and on. They just allowed the thing to die then beat the dead horse with terrible expansions.

Charges Twilight fans with Ka-bar -Surfin's PlunderBunny LIIIIIIIIIIINNEEEEE PIIIEEEECCCCEEE!!!!!!! -Taedrin Using relativity to irrational numbers is smart -rodyas I no longer believe we landed on the moon. -Atticus Fynch

Never heard of it. Looked it up and reminds me of quake, the gameplay looks great yet outdated.
Forgot Kerbal Space Program, and World of Tanks.

Killing Floor

I paid full price for Left 4 Dead when it came out and I got three guns, four levels, and only three special enemies. Why is that game popular and no one knows what Killing Floor is? Full set of classes, dozens of guns, tons of enemies, better pacing, door sealing/barricading, iron sights... LOL LETS BUY L4D2! XD

Not really underrated, though I do agree it is much better than Left for Dead 2.
I'm still waiting for a realistic "infected, zombie" shooter.
Dead Island was a huge let down.

+1 for Mount & Blade

Metro 2033
Stalker series

L4D2 is rated highly, I guess, because of its continued support, with new maps and a good community.

No seriously, I can't believe you actually tried to compare Vampire Masquerade to World of Darkness.

The original Portal had one gun, and some of my friends are still quoting it. 'Quality' does not neccessarily require dozens of options, settings and modes.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

I've always been partial to Secret of Evermore, Chrono Cross, and Threads of Fate. I don't ever see people talk them up.

Cluelesness, you has it. Lol

Read carefully, you silly kine:

Quote:
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, abbreviated as Bloodlines or VTMB, is a role-playing video game for Windows developed by Troika Games in 2004. Like Activision's Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption,

Bloodlines is set in White Wolf, Inc.'s Vampire: The Masquerade universe also known as the World of Darkness (WoD),

but it is not a sequel to the earlier game. The game allows the player to choose one of several different vampire clans and progress through the game according to the different strengths and weaknesses of the player's character, as in its paper and pencil role-playing origins.

So? Does WoD sound a little bit more interesting now?

No, here's why World of Darkness will suck:

. it will be an MMORPG so that will mean either killing 100 rats for blood to kill a human being rather than actually acting like a vampire or werewolf like you should be able to when roleplaying I loved how being a Malkavian meant all your dialog options were a little bit psychotic like they should be

. It will have very little or no story, if there will be story it will be poorly done since they'll rush to get in huge amounts of empty spaces coded rather than taking their time in it and adding content as that's why you pay subscription to MMORPGs rather than just pay once

. The music will be shite since they'll spend more on cinematic trailers than the overall gameplay experience as that sells more for some reason than having fun game to play mainly due to the current generation of gamers being extremely uninformed and ignorant about what they buy

. The game is in reality being published by CCP, this will mean even if we do get an interesting world to play in it will have the exact same problems as EVE Online, publishers love messing around with their developers in this industry and telling them how to make their games

. The immersion will be killed by players who will inevitably name their characters after characters from Twilight or the original Vampire Masquerade games and you'll have hundreds of players standing around one quest giver NPC in a dark alley way or supposedly 'hidden' spot

. PvP will be imbalanced because it will inevitably either have classes or skills to choose from and this just doesn't work for multiplayer PvP

. The races will inevitably have different artificial bonuses placed on them just for picking them so even if you remove the class and skill system it will still be imbalanced unless they manage to keep the bonuses the same and make the use of the race abilities different

I could go on listing the negatives that will be in this game just because it's being defined as an 'MMORPG' but I'll end up filling the whole thread with one post if I did, you're being naive enough to think that just because the company name is the same as the people who made Vampire Masquerade it will automatically be the same despite the fact it will be a different genre and have a different publisher behind it. That said, even if Activision were to publish it I still wouldn't trust them to make a game as good as Vampire Masquerade again because they'll have different people in charge since they merged with Blizzard.

Companies like EA specifically bought out Bioware and Westwood in order to keep their name for themselves that doesn't mean I'll trust them to make a good Command and Conquer game or Baldurs Gate again. PC World have curry's in order to make people think the company is different should one of them go bankrupt. People need to go out and do their research, there's a new Dungeon Keeper that's supposed to be coming out eventually, but if I remember correctly that's being made by a chinese company so that automatically means we're going to have to kill 100 skeletons to level up our abilities and move on to another dungeon.

just about every Gary Grisby game

War in the pacific admiral edition
War in the East
Over the reich
Battle of brittain
All of them some really number crunching games

Also alot of the older paradox games classic wargames
the operational art of war series
Campaign series ( eastern front , western front , rising suns etc)
Battleground series (shiloh, gettysburg, bullrun chickamagua(sp) antietam, waterloo, borodino , etc )
Granted these are hopelessly outdate'd graphic wise but they still go relative good in the PBEM communities

Battle of jutland
one of my favorites if you like big ships with big guns
so this is permanence
