Thought it might be interesting to start a chat channel in game.

I am currently sitting in Jita 4-4 with a new chat channel created "CSM7 Townhall" perhaps we can get other candidates to join in as a rolling realtime Q&A and debate?

Anyways, always up for experimenting... join me won't you?

(Probably won't be watching Jita local as it makes my eyes bleed.)

Update: Now being archived for EVE-Live/EVE-Search.

Forgive me for being curious, but is the "None of the Above" candidate now advocating that there is now value in hearing an alternative viewpoint?

And not hoping to be obstructive, but I'm assuming "you" have moderator control to the channel rather than it being a "neutrally" mediated platform?

Yes absolutely. It may seem nonsensical but my candidacy is even conditional on other's points of view. See my announcement thread for more details (in my sig).

I made the channel on a lark, feel free to make your own if you feel more qualified. Your point is valid. I would be happy to see a more official moderated place to discuss.

I'd suggest and encourage asking CCP to open a public channel for such purposes.

Hey CCP! Can we have an open public channel for this purpose?

It is a great idea to have, for example a stickied Townhall here in Jita park for example.

CCP?

Once you think you have it all, you have actually become ignorant towards everything else.

LolLolLol

You'd end up with carpal tunnel syndrome Nicolo, and for all the wrong reasons. You seem to be one of the most predjudicial individuals against freedoms of expression I certainly know about.

Actually had a good chat with Nicolo about various topics, death to NPC Corps, War Dec reforms, Low Sec politics and Drone Poo.

Even got called "my friend", although unsure of the sincerity and/or sarcasm quotient there.

All in all a lively debate and discussion.

Thanks for coming by to "moderate", Nocolo!

Will be here for a while longer tonight, if folk want to drop in: "CSM7 Townhall"

Want to thank Mike Azariah for dropping by for a Nicolo "moderated" discussion.

Mike's Candidacy thread:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=68323&find=unread

Topics included high sec wardecs, the economics of ganking, more drone poo, Jack Dant's very popular losec proposals, Mike's next blog on CSM dreamteams, and various colorful personalities in EVE.

On the eupraxsophy of EVE:

Mike Azariah: Let me answer that question with a question, is there only one way to play EVE?

None ofthe Above: Only if EVE has only one player.

(To which Mike's response was probably not even then, which I can't say I disagree with.)

Have been joined by Elise Randolph current CSM, and Andski, current Goon.

Interesting discussions as one might expect.

Call me a cynic, but I'd say the reason a candidate named "None ofthe Above" creating such a channel and encouraging such a discourse would be to demonstrate to onlookers the inefficacy of the various candidates.

Whereas my second question you convieniently edited out from the post gave no "hint" to that? Roll

And to follow the argument through logically in a literal manner as you are implying I'm only capable of versing does it mean the stance is now: "Maybe None of the Above"? (Again just questions)

Personally I would have thought the notion of "None of the Above" is pretty clear and isnt based on candidacy performance but on the idea of faith in the CSM in principal. So the abilities of candidates would not be the issue, but the very establishment of what the CSM is. Which in itself is a loaded platform for an argument as it's obvious they believe in the process as they are standing to be elected on it as an active participant. You either have faith in the process and stand to be elected or not. Logically any voter can predetermine the stance as a result.

So ultimatley I see it as a question of do I stand for something as opposed to nothing. And really doesn't need a long winded debate to find an answer for.

I don't really get what you're saying.

Are you suggesting that by not quoting the entirety of a post when I'm only responding to part of it that I am somehow taking it out of context or being disingenuous?

Then perhaps you'd kindly practice what you preach and stop quoting snippets of my prior post history? Smile

Actually no. The snippets I quoted support a direct link to stances you have claimed. And are sufficiently objective to infer a point. Whereas your omission here of my point and using it as a basis to prove my naivity or absence of awareness is very relevant to the argument.

However, its completely irrelevant as you have already recognised in your own posts that the comments I have made are irrefutable and that you could not argue against them? So what have you acheived in your brash attempt at repair here? Other than you are capable of an extra level of denial?
