Am I doing this right?

I'm sitting on just over 3M SP on this character, but really haven't played all that much. Right now I have most of my stuff stationed over in Rens.

To get some combat training, I took my Hurricane and found a Brutor Tribe-L2 Security Agent right in the same system of Rens. I grinded missions all night that Brutor Tribe gave me and now am at 0.07 sec status. Am I just supposed to stick with this agent and keep grinding missions til I gain more isk? or am I supposed to go find another agent thats non-brutor tribe? Confused!

And, as a side thing to do, I'd really like to get into either Exploring, or Salvaging. Although Salvaging seems kind of boring, I do have a Thrasher already fitted for it. As for exploring, whats my best route and ship for a Minny?

I really want to start fitting my rifters and get into some PVP, but I need to find a way to make isk, and it doesnt seem like my L2's are doing it..

Thanks for any help/advice you guys can give!

For missioning, you will end up grinding missions up to lvl 4 missions by gaining standing with whatever corp(s) you choose to go with.

Salvaging consists of either probing out missioners and taking their wrecks or finding some missioners who are willing to give them to you.

As to exploration, it's a very large topic and you'll likely want to start off by reading a few wiki pages like this one which will give you a good overview of what it's about.

You can also join the Exploration channel in-game and ask questions of the more experienced explorers that hang out there (warning though, we're more than happy to offer tips and advice to people who want to learn, but people who just want everything handed to them without being willing to do any work themselves aren't welcome).

L2s are not going to get you a to of ISK, no.

What you're meant to do is grind L2s until you can access at L3s, then eventually L4s - those are where the real money is at.

Salvaging is a good source of income. Exploration CAN be, if you go looking for things in lowsec space. Honestly, I'd reccomend getting Salvaging to at least 3 first, especially if you intend to mission a lot for income. It won't take that long, so you can move on to exploration or PvP skills if you want pretty quick.

You can check your current standing with Brutor Tribe corporation in Character Sheet -> Standings. Once you get over 3.00 standing, you can start working for level 3 agents of Brutor Tribe.

You can also train few skills to speed that up. "Connections" gives instant boost to standings while "Social" increases standing gain from missions.

I saw you mentioned 'Sec status'

Did you mean 'Standings' or did you actually mean sec status.

Reason I ask is because Sec status doesn't really matter much for missions and an increase of 0.07 standings seems really low for an entire evenings grinding. With a postive (or at least not significantly negative) sec status you can enter all parts of high-sec but other than that it has no bearing on missions.

You want 'Standings' either with a faction, corp or just a particular agent. That's what'll get you more agents.

L2's aren't worth much at all, L3's if you run them quickly enough can generate enough cash to fund small ship pvp though you will likely have a money shortage if you make a habit of losing cruiser hulls and up. Frigates should be nice and affordable on L3 income. L4's can make you upwards of 20mil an hour when starting out and 30mil an hour isn't difficult when you get skills up and a good ship. That'll fund your PvP needs.
So the other posters have it spot on, work your way up the agents for Brutor tribe until you hit L4 agents.

For exploring, start with a Probe frigate (it has bonuses to scanning that you'll find useful) and keep a combat ship of your choice on hand if you want to run the combat sites. mxzf looks like that guy to ask for more help on exploration.

Would you Stick with Brutor tribe or try to gain 3.00 standings with 3-4 different 'groups' (Perhaps Sisters of EVE, ect...)

As far as Salvaging goes, Since I do already have a Thrasher fitted for Salvgaing that could be an option..Go a L2 mission, bookmark, go back and salvage, complete/request mission?

And what I dont get is my standing with Brutor tribe are 1.82, but im already doing L2's from them?!?

Thank you guys for all the help!

I prefer working for one corp per faction. I use navy corps since they have a lot of security agents for all levels.
So Federation Navy for Gallente, Caldari Navy for Caldari, I don't remember minmatar/amarr Navy corp names.

Brutor Tribe does have few level 3 and 4 security agents so it's no awfull choice - but there are corps with more agents. It's up to you whether you want to switch or not. Also I've heard that items available in LP stores will differ - but I did not investigate that.

You can complete mission and then go back to salvage. Everything in mission area, except wrecks, will disappear so salvaging will be easier - and you can also warp from one area to next. Just make sure to bookmark each area in multi-area missions, since acceleration gates will be gone.

Some good suggestions here.

Skillage:
- Connections skill will get you access to better/harder agents a little faster.
- Negotiation skill will get you more isk for mission rewards.
- Social will get you more faction standing increase per mission.

If you find yourself farming loyalty points, there are skill boosters for those. Look in market under "Social"

There are a few theories on fastest isk/hr for missions, and a lot of it is dependent on what mission and what ship you're in, and what your navigation skills are like.

Some guys blitz missions (don't loot, and kill only necessary to get credit for mission). This gets you through missions faster at the cost of loot, salvage, and bounties. But it DOES get you to the Storyline missions quicker (which pop every 16 regular missions) and it DOES get you more Loyalty points (buy stuff at LP store and sell it). At lvl3 and lvl4, Storyline missions can be pretty lucrative.

Some guys loot all, salvage all, and kill all. Lower number of missions per hour, but you really suck the morrow out of the bones.

Personally, I all somewhere in between, depending on my mood and how much time I have.
