425mm Railguns with Antimatter L will give you more dps at the range it shoots to than Neutron Blasters with Iron L will

For example:

A dominix with 6 425mm Railgun I's with T1 Antimatter will shoot to 30km+30km and do 227dps.
A dominix with 6 Neutron Blaster Cannon I's with T1 Iron L will shoot to 12km+13km and 140dps.

Use 425mm Railguns.

For Damsel in Distress use blasters with Null+Void (faction antimatter if you can't T2).

Rails for anything else.

Iron ammo does so little damage it's just not worth using. 425mm rails (FTFY) are ballin'.

Rails but....

Some missions will land you right on top of the rats. If you get to recognise these and fit blasters for those you will do well but other than that Rails all the way. Tracking comps in the mids if you can fit them help some.

That's why blasters essentially are obligatory for Damsel. I don't recall any other mission where they would be more viable than rails. Buzz Kill maybe.

T2 425mm +CN/FN AM shoot at max 100km for a maximum dps depending on your skills/fit, under 50km and always depending on your fit you can either keep AM or change for Javelin if you know what you're doing and have perfect support skills.
