I wonder where I can check in the game my current drone control range (other than adding up 20km and any applicable modifiers manually).

Nope. You have to do it manually.

It should be on the fitting screen IMO... but it is not. Have to look at the drone individually.

Not that hard to figure out, but ya, would be nice if it was on fitting screen or drones in bay.

Drone Control Range = 20 km + 5 km * Scout Drone Operation + 3 km * Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing

Plus modules:

Drone Drone Link Augmentor I = +20 km
Drone Drone Link Augmentor II = +24 km
Black Eagle Drone Link Augmentor = +26 km

Rigs can extend the drone control range as well, iirc.
