A thread for the little ideas or for unique takes on commonly proposed ideas. Remember, even the tiniest improvements can add up.

Example Suggestion: Give the noctis a drone bay
It isn't likely to be game breaking. Even a drone bay of just 15m³ would do the noctis a bit of good, especially since Ore is a gallente corporation. What harm could possibly be done to game balance if CCP did this?

Who will decide what is small enough to be in a third tier forum for tiny ideas?
I am an advocate for small polishes to the game too, but a polish is not something that can change the balance.

15m3 drone bay on a ship that is not meant to have drones is changing the balance. I might agree with the suggestion if the bandwidth is limited to 5mb/s. However, I still do not see the point for drones on a salvage ship.

Light Scout Drones (**** could happen at any time, and in my experience it often does).

Hmm... This thread might be useful in the near future. I'll come back when I get an idea.

I was thinking, what if we could tell scanner probes to go into formation and then change the distance between them simultaniously?

You already can (well, they don't instantly change formation, but they are simple to put in formation and keep there). This was already addressed in your thread yesterday.

And, to the OP: Why? If any proposal can't answer the question of "Why?" without resorting to things like "Why not?" or "Because it would be cool" or "Because I want it", then it should be re-thought from the beginning. It's the presenter's responsibility to determine that there is, in fact, sufficient need for the proposal and that it would improve Eve as a whole.

And, as others have said, there is no reason to have a drone bay in a Noctis, it's not a combat ship.

The Hulk has a drone bay and it isn't a combat ship.
Besides, there are more drones than just combat dronse. There are Mining Drones, there are Logistics Dronse, there are E-War drones, and people have even requested Salvaging Drones.

But look, this guy made a thread about little ideas, for little ideas. Let's try not to focus on one idea in this thread and try to focus on our own ideas that may or may not belong in here.

Also, what I told CCP about Space Sniffer? They could use it to manage their Database, for one thing.

That argument could also be applied to the barges/exhumers (which do have drone bays).

However, in saying that ... even though they're not combat vessels, it is expected that mining vessels will be in situations where persons of questionable intent (i.e. rats) will take a few pot-shots at them. Thus, they need enough of "local" defence to handle these situations themselves (or survive long enough for backup to arrive).

On the other hand, you have the Noctis ... which is expected to be following in the wake of combat vessels, and heading into situations that do not directly present the possibility of danger where said ship will need to survive (alone) long enough for backup to arrive...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

There is that and there is the fact that there are mining drones that barges/exhumers commonly use. If they had actually implemented Salvage Drones, then maybe I could see the Noctis using drones; but as-is, the Noctis' role doesn't involve drones and it has no need for them.

It could be interesting if it had a large drone bay but no bandwidth (so it can pick up abandoned drones but can't launch them), but I don't think that it's needed at all, it would just be a unique twist (though one that would likely create even more threads like the OP's idea, lol).

lol, yeah.

And, Amaroq, if you are serious. CCP certainly has experienced sysadmins managing their server clusters and they are running on Linux, not windows. And every sysadmin has their own specific tools that they prefer to use to use to keep an eye on disc usage (which varies from programs that give a visual representation to customized shell scripts).

On top of that, the program from the link doesn't have anything to do with databases. You couldn't even view a database with that program, much less manage it. Please don't post about things which you know nothing whatsoever about.

It let's you view how much space is being used, by which files, and it let's you manage them at the same time.

Look, if nobody likes my ideas, then just pretend I don't exist for awhile and post some of your ideas to this guy's thread.
