Planetary Interaction thoughts

I just recently started planetary interaction after having ignored it for a long time.

I like the concept of bringing some feel of a strategy game into eve, but it somehow lacks perspective.
Either it is tons of hauling in order to achieve something or you have to see that your command center will never be good enough to sustain your planned production chains.

So I got 2 Ideas:

First one, it could be possible to link a player's production line to the one of another player. Like, when making the link to another player, this other player can either refuse or accept. Then, for example Player A harvests Resource A, Player B harvests resource B, Player C refines those resources and player D takes all into his silos and owns them all (muahaha).

The other Idea would be an addition to the first one and was to add some kind of terraforming. Kind of a player setting up a command center only to fasten up the regeneration rate of a resource on a planet. This would, for example, take so much energy that it would be impossible to harvest and terraform at the same time and would be limited to one particular spot.

What do you guys think about that? I am not too far into PI, so I can't say if that would improve that system.
