Could do with some advice/suggestions on what to train next, combat-wise...

My Eveboard

I am currently working towards T2 large hybrids(that's blasters AND rails) and working towards maxing out the skills required to be a semi-decent Vindicator pilot. After that I will be scratching my head as to what I should prioritise my training towards.

Other than a carrier for logistical purposes, I have zero interest in caps - owning/flying a carrier is a low priority.

For semi-RP reasons I don't wish to train up Gallente T2 ships, but will probably end up training these once all other combat options are exhausted(makes sense if I'm going to train T2 hybrids, after all).

It's looking more like either drones or missiles next, specifically T2 Ogres/sentries + support skills, or getting some T2 missile systems - but I am open to suggestions.

Train up your mining foreman to V, and mining director to I, get an orca, slap some neuts and T2 drones in it with scrambler and webs in the mid-slots and go surprise someone! Twisted

I actually like that idea... Pirate

You don't have any of the popular t2 ship types at lvl 5 in space command. I'd suggest starting out with recon, logi and HAC's.

Not entirely sure where you're going with this one, but I'd say max out your subsystem skills if you fly T3s even on occasion. CovOps 5 to maximize bombers wouldn't hurt. As already mentioned, HAC 5 and Recon 5.

Missile skills need work; otherwise you have a solid Drake there. Drone supports could use some love but that probably isn't a top priority.

You do need a couple more million in drones. T2 Heavy Drones will feel like a very nice accomplishment when you get them.
And almost any Mega hull deserves them, but especially the Vindi. Ogre II's are like cops.. Nobody ever likes to see them in their overview. Get those x1 drone skills to 5 as well.

Your at a place where you just need a lot of skills to V. Those T2 cruiser skills are multi racial, so thats more bang for the buck when you max them. If you don't want cap skills, then the logical choice is PERFECT sub-caps. The Vindi is a nice ship to start with, and deserves perfect skillage. (is skillage even a word?)

Hopefully you get my point.

Nice char btw.

drone skills is a good idea too

Recon and logi sound like a definite possibility, HAC not so sure on as I rarely use them since training the skill. But I like your thinking; I hadn't thought to put more sp into Spaceship Command.

I mostly trained the subsystems just to say I could fly one, but the Legion and Loki skills could certainly do with some more love. As for whether to prioritise drones or missiles, I fly Minmatar quite a bit so I guess I could give them some more love. The thought of flying a Drake makes me feel ill frankly, but for the greater good of the fleet if that's what's needed...

I think this pretty much swings me towards my next path. I've spent the last year or so just training stuff related to a Nightmare, once that was done I messed about a little and then settled on the Vindicator for my next training goal. So going off what you're saying, it would make sense for me to work on those drone skills next, once I'm done with the T2 hybrids(that's another couple of weeks, tops if I go for rail and blasters).
I hear what you're saying about multi racial skills; Battlecruiser 5 was the best most awesome level 5 skill I remember getting, it really made a difference. So again, it's certainly something worth my consideration.
And cheers :)

Thank you all for your thoughts so far. It's looking like I'm getting me some Ogre II's after I've sorted the large hybrids out, along with some more support skills to back them up. Then it's possibly on to those spaceship command skills.

Besides what others have pointed out already, you have an awful lot of skills at 2 or 3 generally spoken. Seems like a waste to me, especially the weapon specializations in gunnery, there is no reason not to take them all at IV. Also, many mechanic skills that don't take long to IV like the rigging skills and maybe electronic warfare ones as well. Doesn't take long but looks way better.

.. and often provide some decent buffs too - when compared to the amount of time put into them.

Indeed indeed, you're both quite right. To be honest the only reason I haven't taken those Gunnery skills to 4 yet is purely because I'm focused on those large T2 hybrids. With regards to rigs, I've taken to 4 the ones I use most often; the gunnery-related rig skills haven't been needed as the drawbacks don't hit my fitting requirements all that hard. But again, taking the ones I have taken to 4 has indeed proven to be pretty dandy.
