Reducing the list to serious candidates only on the basis of a few likes is a good move, whoever you are. It means that there is less chance for a wasted vote, while not significantly restricting anyone who really wants to run.

Fewer people with more actual influence. Better make sure we pick the people who demonstrate actual understanding of the game.
