Ahh... yeah he mentioned this to me a while back but it's been a while and i assumed he'd changed his mind.

Just an example of RL committments taking precedence over a computer game I'm afraid. If anyone is bitter over this, send me 10 million isk and a note ingame, i'll flick him round the ear for you.

- with any luck this means my website wont be so damn laggy WILL IT MR JMF, WILL IT?!?!?!?!?

Actually screw the isk. Ear flicks are on the house \o/

Hi guys, its true...

Like Obsidian said (he knows me in real life really well) I had been discussing shutting down the service for almost a year before I pulled the plug.

I set up the service roughly 5 years ago and at the close we had over 500 boards with around 2million killmails.

Each month we were going through 1.6Tb of bandwidth and over 60Gb of hard drive space for that one site.

There are a number of reasons why I decided to shut the site down, here are a few of the key points:

  1. Real life came along and give me a massive kick in the ass (got engaged)
  2. The server performance was suffering due to large amount of hits/visits the site was getting (never thought i would complain about having a busy website...)
  3. Many of the customers conveniently forgot to pay the fees for the boards.
  4. I lost interest in Eve for a while cause of other games coming out (Star Wars: The Old Republic).

With the help of our great hosting providers (JMF eMedia Group) the www.evekb.co.uk is getting rebuilt as an information portal and I hope you will all find it usefull.

If my situation changes I may one day return to the world of killboard hosting so this may just be a hiatus or it may be the long goodbye, who knows??

Safe journeys my friends.

P.S. All clients of EVEKB, if you need a board drop me or ANLASHOCK a mail for a 6 month promo code for EVSCO.
Also we have an archive board online that EVSCO is feeding the mails off of so that all your mails are matched.
