Grinding up for a trade alt

Hi. I've never really done much (mission) PVE content, but am a seriously effective Tengu and Loki pilot and would like to boost faction standings for a zero combat station trader alt of mine. Ultimately I would like to grind him up to the 8-9 level.

I understand that grinding up my own standings with my alt in fleet will not boost his faction standings.

Rather, is the method for my alt to accept missions (level 1 at first, as he is brand new) but for me to take the bookmark and complete the missions, then have him hand in any mission objectives?

If so, are there any gotchas to avoid? Anything that would be treated a a failure (ie, does the char who accepted the mission have to make a certain kill, or is the fact of the kill good enough?)

Does the alt have to leave the station at all? Join fleet?

Thanks for any help. I have tried to research this one but it's a slightly difficult thing to search for due to the keywords not being unique to this particular problem.

I also have quite a bit of isk from wormhole life, so purchasing tags, etc, is not a problem. But how do I learn which ones to purchase for which missions?

Wormhole exploration, sales, and location services. Mail me.

You have the basic mechanism correct. The character who accepts the mission does not have to do anything in the mission, the combat character can do all the killing. Your trade alt can sit in station while the killing is going on. The character accepting the mission does have to turn in the item from the mssion if there is one (such as in damsel in distress).

But if your combat character has some standings, you do not necessarily need to start at level 1. My impression is that level 3 missions work best for a corporation standings grind, they can be run much faster than level 4's. At first, let the combat character take the missions with your trade alt in fleet, the trade alt will build agent standing faster than other standings, and can access that agent directly soon enough (maybe about 20 missions at level 3, could be remembering this wrong). Then let the trade alt accept all the missions, and then quit sharing the rewards to accumulate the standings faster.

The player accepting the mission can fly to the mission bookmark and then the combat character can warp to that character in fleet. Use rookie ships for the trade alt for this, they cost nothing and you have an unlimited supply. The NPC's in missions won't pod players.

Dunno if possible or not, but if in same corp, drag the mission bookmaarks from yours to corp bookmarks

The fastes way is to run cusmos mission for that faction and use the datacenters.

It can be done in 2-3 days to get it abov 5, from there it becomes harder.

It its a trade alt and for 0% tax you just need the standings at 6.72 i recall.

Nisroc - Angel of Freedom Nisroc is known as "The Great Eagle".
