I made a post earlier because of a bug im getting. Although in my opinion i wasnt rude or "flameful" i still felt maybe i was a bit harsh worded because quite frankly i was frustrated. Ive just returned home from work, cooled off and im going to try again because this game isnt kicking my ass *again*. I find qq posts obnoxious and realize i was quite close.


Anyway, my OP was negative and im generally not a negative person so edited. Apologies.

ISD are not bots, they are volunteer players.

Admittedly the complexity of the tutorial has made it more prone to missing things and bugs but people like you only seem to pop up maybe once a week or so it seems obviously, while you aren't the only one, the majority of new players aren't running into these issues or have found way around them.

It's cases like yours that have made me wanna try to make a tutorial walk through video series....I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet :3

Sadly I haven't seen the latest version of the tutorial to know half of any of how it's been changed or how it works as opposed to before so I really can't help you :3

Ya it just might be a specific problem with Minmatar, but of course since only new player see these things they tend to not get reported properly =/

Problem is that while the tutorial has improved in the way it presents information and which information it presents, the method is still a bit flakey and since they keep doing complete revamps the changes are a bit prone to bugs.

This sorta stuff seems to riddle any significant change in EVE but lately CCP has been a crusade fixing things =D

The New Player Experience is something that is, of course, 'new', and is in a constant state of evolution. I can't remember who the dev is who recently posted but he is one of many people on a new team dedicated strictly to the NPE. Right now it's lightyears better than what it use to be, but admittedly it isn't and never ever will be perfect. EVE is too complex to quantify in a brief 20 minute mission chain.

That being said, that's what Rookie chat is there for, that's what the ISD's volunteer to do, and that is absolutely why we're here on the forums!

I really am sorry that things are rather frustrating for you right now, and if you shout out in Help while I'm on I'm pretty much always in that channel and will do everything I can to help you with your specific problem of the moment.

Well i just started today and had no problems completeing the tutorial misisons.


All the items were available when the tutorial said they would be and most things were pretty simple.

the force is strong with this one

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

As a trial junkie myself (have been since the beta) i feel for the op, even now all these years later the tutorial is a collossal mess. There have been the odd improvements but overall it's got feck all to do with a "difficult learning curve" and more to do with p-i-s-s poor design.

No matter what arc you choose it's all exactly the same with exactly the same prizes and can be beyond tedious...quite frankly the whole thing needs chopping up and streamlining badly!

There is NOTHING WRONG with being frustrated! Everyone in EVE has QQ'd at least once in their lives. Don't feel bad. We're here to help no matter what.

I think it's better that he recognized that he said some thing out of frustration that he might not have meant and calmed him self down and tried again ^^

Hey Torryn Vale,

I would like to know more about the bug that your encountering as we are trying to help out to see where the issues are in the Tutorials and where there aren't. I know it can become frustrating when something says happens and it does not happen. We do our best to work out the problems that happen within the Rookie Help and Help channels. We are here to help all rookies and older members learn as well as give advice in what is happening.

I know EVE can seem very difficult and there is a lot to learn but we are here to help you out as well as other players.
