Just another: What to train for next.

(I put it in this thread as it is recomendation towards a certain ship that I want)

So I have reached a training level where I have to aim for a new goal.

I can fly Caldari and Gallente Battleships. I can t2 tank these but I can't t2 arm these (Ogres, Cruise, Torpedos, Railguns or Blasters).
I can fly and t2 fit Caldari and Gallente Battlecruisers, Cruisers and Frifates and their T2's and soon T3's. (The Gallente again suffer from my lack of T2 Ogres and sentry guns).
I don't know what to train for next, I'm rather at a loss actually.
I do missions in a Raven or Drake depending, but considering the switch to Dominix.
Don't care to throw out the iskies for a pve Tengu that is sub-par to a Machariel, and I definitely would rather train for something else than go CNR.

The true question for me right now is what to aim for next. I'd like something that works for my PvE but at the same time boosts my pvp.

So, in your opinion, should I aim for finishing the Gallente abilities and get an Ishtar for missions (Heavy Drones, Large Railguns and then Blasters)?
Should I cross-train my third race and go for Machariel (yeah, the whole tech tree. Got most of the support gun skills though)?
Suck-it-up and go Tengu?

As I am a casual player I'd like according to this what support implants to aim for. Right now I have missile implants to boost the drake, but I'd rather something that were a bit more universal useful for my range for cross-training.

I know, that I should have a clone for each ship or something similar, but I am working on some sort of a budget.

Go for T2 weapon systems in my opinion. That being Hybrids and potentially some missile launchers if you like your Caldari side of things.
If you are seriously considering a Domi for AFK mission running, then you'll want T2 Sentries. The damage improvement over T1's is.... Well worth it. T2 Heavies are also nice.

Both of these points could aid your PVP aspects, depending on how you fly. Solo? Small gang? Blob fleet? Null sec? Low sec? High sec war/ganks? Really depends. Many people will suggest Winmatar and Projectiles though, you've been warned.

Also. Good on you for not wanting a PVE Tengu. I hate those damned things, as do many 1400mm's ;)

My pvp is currently defense actions in high sec of a size somewhat corresponding to "a small gang".
Probably gonna do some low sec roaming for the lolz... (But I'll probably be the jammer in a blackbird or falcon depending on our budget).

A post-crucible Rokh is comparable to a CNR as an anti-guristas ship; I'd recommend starting with t2 large hybrids. You could aim for a Vindicator later on, with Null buff they look pretty serious in both PVP and PVE (if they didn't already). The Talos is one of the fotm PVP ships for small scale and looks to be ever improving.

Ah, high sec. Well, as above said; T2 Hybrids then. The Vindicator is <3
And the Talos, from what I've heard is pretty darn awesome, both close and long range.

I was almost conviced I was going to do as you recommend.

But then...

I live in Amarr space and that means Sansha...

Hybrids and gallente drones arent that bad verse sansha. The sansha, if im correct, like to orbit within decent railgun range too. Oh and theyre good for gallente armor tanks

Something we hadn't considered. If you really care about damage in missions then fine, train Tengu/lasers.

Hybrids aren't a very bad choice for Sansha. Plus, the fact you have Caldari and Gallente up to battleships kind of suggests Hybrids. You can get some very nice PVE and PVE ships with hybrids trained up. Besides, you won't necessarily be in Sansha space forever. I'd really recommend figuring out what you think would be the most FUN to fly and go with that. Use this equation to make your decisions for the ship you use for money making.

Fun(ISK/Hr)

Besides, I think you'll get more bang for your buck if you finish training up one race's ships. I'm all for diversification, but being able to fly one ship WELL is much better than being able to fly four badly.
