I bought an Alienware M14X with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on it. I have tried every way CCP says to as far as downloading and installing EVE goes. No dice! Anyone out there have a work around or a fix for me? I bought this thing just so I could ahhh be more productive while at work... yeah thats it!

I have Eve running on 2 towers and 1 laptop all with Windows 7 64bit so can confirm it will install ok.

So questions;
Have you downloaded the installer file (around 5 Gigs worth)?
Just in case you are having problems at this early stage.

When you try installing Eve do you get any error messages and what are they?

Are you trying to install Eve on the default C:\ drive or on a separate partition (I ask because there are problems with administrator access when installed on the C:\ drive).

If you have partitioned your hard drive is your C:\ partition big enough to unpack the files needed to install Eve. For some reason CCP insists the unpack files go on the C:\ drive. There are ways around this.

If you have tried to run the installer more than once have you deleted all the files in the temp locations to give the next try a clear run?

When installing Eve do you have a virus scanner running, sometimes the scanner takes so long to scan the files the installer gives up thinking the file is corrupt when it is not. Most scanners can be set to ignore the files or you can suspend scanning while the install is taking place.

So something to think about and maybe give you some ideas.

There is a message once the download finishes. I can't quote it off the top of my head, but it suggests doing the manual download and install. Tried that and get the same message. I am attempting to re-re-re-re-redownload and install EVE again here. I'm installing to the default location C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE and have over 500gb free on my HDD, it is NOT partioned, I am the admin and all settings are adjusted correctly. This is the only game/program I am having any issues with on this new rig as well. I'll repost once I get the exact message from the download/installer. It is something to the effect of archive file 3 if I recall.

This sounds like a issue with our CDN, from which country are you trying to download and who is your ISP?

I'm in the US, using the download button from the website and the ISP is actually the ISP I work for. Never had any issues using it before. If this fails again while I'm at *cough* work *cough* today I'll try my other ISP I go through at home which is Cable One. I've been playing EVE off and on for over 4 years done several reinstalls and this is litterally the first issue I've run into.

Beings the modem I am connecting to while at work is set on a plan that cannot dedicate a set speed to it and there is a lot of flux in the speed, could that have any bearings on the issue I am having?

Have you tried downloading the payloads manually already? Just use a proper download manager (fe. DownThemAll!).

The issue you are experiencing are usually caused by a broken payload on one of the Edge Servers of our CDN, however due to the fact that there is no outcry by US players I rather think its on your end of the line (fe. traffic shaping).

Please keep me updated with any progress you are making, we had similar issues in the past but they are usually very difficult to debug or reproduce.

Yes I have tried the manual as well. Same results. If this goofs out again here today at work, I'll try a dedicated line I have at home to see if that makes any difference.
