When double clicking in space to turn your ship, you start getting a pop up message saying "Please wait".

This is quite annoying when you are attempting to pilot around something, having this pop up every few seconds?

What gives?

You have to change directions less then once a second to get the message. And no ship can respond faster than that anyway... but yeah, message would get very annoying in the heat of action.

Whoa this sounds horrible for nano pilots!? And yes it's very often you're clicking to manually fly more than once a second when doing so.

Please fix!

The throttling on this call is still being tweaked so that the rate should be higher than any normal usage. Check out Sisi tomorrow or the day after and see if it's better.

regarding the double click thing..

do the following:

transmit the first command
if player continues to spam a command {
start sampling and transmit only the most recent command
}

dropping the last command is exactly the wrong way around (and please stop with the "play slower" notifications)

Please discuss the double click thing in this thread to keep it in one place. CCP Atlas is still tweaking the values for it.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

try to get a copy of the old operation flashpoint if you haven't yet. You could command tanks, the implementation was brilliant.

you pressed an arrow key (lets say left) and the commander shouted the direction. After 1-2s the driver started to follow the order until you released the key and the commander shouted forward... you get the idea

thats how eve works right now, you are the commander. The delay is already there (for technical reasons). There is however NO reason why this concept would not work with a joystick or keyboard. Nobody expects realtime control of a x km long spaceship with thousands of people on board anyway.

Just get rid of doubleclicks - thats all

I'm definitely for this. I also think it would be great if there was some 3D indicator displaying your vector. A simple line would suffice. Something that isn't dissimilar from the line that appears when you select something with the tactical overview displayed. The vector indicator, of course, should be optional.

The removal of the double-click would remove the spiral approach, which is one of the best ways a frigate can approach a larger ship (usually for short orbit + tackle) without being shot down. I've even seen this tactic used on an autocannon Thrasher to take out Dagon. It does not take a lot of double-clicks to achieve this maneuver, just a good eye and an understanding of what's going on.

Though I can see why its being tweaked/throttled a bit, its important to not nerf it completely. Frigate pilots in particular (and most Nano'd ships up to BC size - not just the 'Cane) would be hurt by that.

Hey!

I was testing this a bit and I am unable to trigger this warning any longer with normal game-play through double-clicking. For other actions (for example ctrl+space) I get the warning faster - but here it should have no bad consequences as it is really enough to stop your ship once.

Could you guys jump on Singularity and try around if the current values there are fine for you, or if there are any situations, where it makes sense to click faster than allowed?

Seems loads better for manual flying. I didn't have it pop up at all when flying around a target. I could force it up by clicking like a maniac, but that was in a totally unrealistic fashion.

Does pop up almost immediately with ctrl space though.

I've double checked this too and it seems fine now :).

Spamming like a maniac does bring it up but constant double clicking fast to change direction doesn't. Thanks
