If you want to make ISK, fast or otherwise, don't mine. Do something worthwhile and interesting instead. Sorry to say so, but the SP you put into Mining skills are only useful as a prereq to get into an Orca. ;)

Btw, a ship that's able to fly L2 missions costs like 1mill. 2mill if you get spendy on the fitting.

Good idea...
- If someone's foolish enough to request only millions when shipping billions worth merchandise.
- Once you got the nose to avoid scam contracts.
- Once you have the cashflow to support the collateral to even accept the contract.
- Once you have a ship that can freight those highly valuable goods through any system and don't fear either suicide gank or blockades.

There was a storey a little while ago (that I can't find a link to) where a newbie found a courier contract with a very very low colatoral (think it was only a few mil) to move a small volume of "stuff" something pathetic like 10 jumps.

So the newbie looked in the package and found something like 60bil isk worth of megacyte (I forget the exact number)

Anyway,
his question was what's the fastest way to makes lots of isk... that's got to be it

It smells like there is a "Someone ganked the Hulk I had all my money invested in and now I cannot afford a frigate" whine thread incoming.

Literally anything but mining. And that is not an exaggeration.

From what I recall of the courier contract jackpot, it was four contracts, each with a large collateral (1-4 billion). However, the contents were worth signicantly more than the collateral, so the pilot failed the contracts and ran off with the loot.

@ the op... There are several methods to quickly make significant isk in game, but they usually require a combination of scamming, trading, luck (Nullsec faction or officer spawns), and teamwork (WH's, Incursions, Hi-difficulty Plex).

Mining is a very passive form of making isk, usually very low stress and low profit. Here's a warning: if you put all of your iskies into a hulk this time of year (i.e. Hulkageddon is probably starting in the next month or so), then you're probably going to be a very sad panda when someone comes and destroys your hulk for the sport of it... Also, if you put 150m in modules on it... they'll destroy your hulk for the profit too... EVEN IN HISEC!!!!

Hulkageddon does not sound like fun. I'll pass on that and start training more combat releated skills. I'm saving for a Drake at the moment. I love missels :)

PPl shooting your hulk is always happening, not just during hulkageddon. It's also not very difficult to avoid.

Edit: Though, looking back at it, it could also be a botched quote.

Let me tell you about mining skills...

THEY SIMPLY WON'T GO AWAY NO MATTER HOW HARD I SCRUB! EvilEvilSad

In other words, take anyone's advice here, just stop mining. They aren't joking when they say you'll look back on those skills months or years later and want to punch yourself in the nose. [/selfloathing]

Yep as a former hardcore miner in high-sec my advice: Don't get your hopes up too much, high-sec mining sucks. If your lucky (meaning: fully boosting Orca with you, T2 strips with T2 crystals) you might get about 20mil/hour as income. This same amount of money is easily collected running missions (level 2 mission only require a cruiser to be done effectively) and level 3's can be done in cruiser or battlecruiser later on. And mining won't get you the standings for higher missions while running missions itself means you get higher standing, which in the end mean, higher rewards from agents and higher mission levels.

Yes, I still mine from time to time, but that is never in high-sec, the only place I find worthy of mining is null-sec with full boosting Rorq in fleet. Then it is "worthwhile" to mine, it still lacks income over ratting in null-sec but someone has to make the PvP ships that get blown up while fighting.

No, training speed will be same no matter how much SP you have. It's just that you could've used that time you used to train minings skills to train something else.

Also clones do cost more when you have more SP total, but that is only downside for having a lot of SP.

As the others have said above, with your SP and ships the options are few.

- Buy GTC and sell it as plex. The fastest way to make iskies.

- Go to Jita and scam. It's hit and miss and the consequences might come back at you later.

- Trading. If you (not your character, you) know how to trade this is probably your best choice of legit iskies. Otherwise it isn't the best time for learning and probably losing your isk.

Get a covetor instead. It's about 40 million fitted and rigged. You can get a basic one with as low as 25 million if you're really strapped for cash and it gets about 85% of the hulk's yield. You can then use that ship to earn a hulk.

The answer to your question is: Scam it. Thats the fastest way to make boatloads of isk.
