So I just finished up a few days of mass training with the NPC's learning the basics. Great tutorial and I have basic sense of how things operate. I've exhausted all the mission at the University and it is clearly time to move on.

So questions

1. What do I do with all the ships I have accumulated? I insured and self destructed a few, but I have a coupe I kind of like, but having nothing big enough to repack them in and transport. Do most people just sell them, leave them behind, or ....?

2. I'm not so sure I want to move on to the next set of NPC agents, but I am somewhat apprehensive about joining a corporation just yet as i barely know what I am doing. So again suggestions are welcome.

3. Is it safe to pack everything I have up into a single ship and move? I wasn' tplanning on heading right to nulsec.

4. Where does one go to call home and stockpile ships and inventory at this point? Is it the net university, corp, something else?

Ok that enough to get me up and moving tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any responses.

1. I'm assuming you've run some of the advanced tutorials - combat, industry, etc. - but not all. I personally reccomend that you finish even the ones you may not be directly interested in growing your character towards, as they provide some good money for the time needed, including (for the industrial and business tutorials) a hauler that you should be able to fit a couple packaged frigates into.

2. I assume you mean actual (non-tutorial) mission agents. If you have a couple spare frigate hulls, you might want to try out one nonetheless - use a site like http://eve-survival.net for tips on how to best deal with a given mission.

That said, if you're looking for a corp to join, E-UNI is always a good place for people learning the game. They're an alliance actually built to help people learn to start the game; you may want to join them first for tips and possible in-space assistance if you need it.

3. Provided you do not travel through low-security space, it should be. There is the risk of suicide gankers, i.e., those who will willingly lose their own ship to CONCORD in order to destroy yours in high-sec, but for the most part these only ships with a more valuable cargo (if you really want to be safe, fitting Warp Core Stabilizers and some Shield Extenders or Hardeners onto your Industrial may dissuade some of the less determined ones).

4. Generally it is at a base of operations for a player corporation; player corporations have the ability to rent offices at a station, which allows for corp members to share items using a common corporate hangar at that station.

Depending on your activities in that corporation, it might also be a station with a preferred mission agent in it, a station with a good refining rate, a station with stockpiled combat ships (if your corp has a ship replacement program) or a station that is being used as the base for a current combat campaign.

Additionally, you'll probably find yourself building up a little stockpile at your market hub of choice, just because of hauling things back and forth and storing them there.

I'd suggest taking a frigate or destroyer and going to see Sister Alitura in Arnon. There's an Arc of about 50 missions, which will net you around 20 million or so.

Woo! CSM XI!

Ok, thanks for the tips so far. TO clarify I did all the missions from all of the trainers, covering mining, industry, battle, scanning, etc....

So I guess the best step might be to move on to the next university I got a letter of recommendation for. Still not sure how to move my ships. I will look into the best freighter a newb can fly and see what works,

Tutorial missions are far from great. Good, but not great. Especially the scanning and exploration missions could be better.

If you don't need money, you can leave them at the station. You can sell them, reprocess them or give away to some other new players (just make sure they are not on a trial or giving away your ships can turn into a waste; trial players cannot accept contracts anyway). Repackaging a ship destroys all rigs and voids the insurance, so keep that in mind. For ships you like or cannot afford to repackage, you can move them by yourself (flying back and forth and buying/making shuttles) or you can contract a hauler to move them for you, but that can cost a small fortune.

Like Esna already pointed out, join an academy, i.e. EVE University. You will learn a lot and meet other new players. Check timezones before you join.

Nothing is safe in EVE (except station trading). You can assume that hauling cheap ships in hisec is pretty safe, but you never know.
If you are a new player, you don't have skills for big haulers and packing ships on industrial can cost you more than it's worth (rigs, insurance) or can make no sense (hauling only one ship, because no more will fit in a cargohold). I pack all my stuff for fitting on industrial and sell ships I don't need or can buy new at the destination. This leaves me with 2-3 ships to move "maually": main ship (the one I use for almost everything), one that was given to me as a gift (I know, I know... I still fly that Vexor, Nyio!) and one that's very expensive in rigs and insurance. That's not many. Four ships.

Depends. Some people (including me) like to have a "home station". Others have stuff and ships scattered all over the place and "sleep" wherever they decide to dock for the night. Either have pros and cons. With "home station" you have everything in one place, easy to find and manage, but you are going back to the same station most of the time, which can be trublesome when you ventured 30+ jumps away to do something. It also makes refitting for missions harder and more expensive. When you store your belongings all over the universe, you don't bother with "damn, I have to go back to take/store this module" situations, but gathering the stuff you need at the moment is a PITA and you end up with many instances of the same module here and there (you can sell those). Whatever floats your boat.
