As part of my ongoing campaign to be elected to the CSM, i am rolling out the ideas that will gain me a seat.

The second idea i am bringing to you the public is...

'The Highlander Rule'

Anyone who has ever watched the Higlander films knows that "There can only be one!"

And thus my simple proposal is that whenever a pod gets squished, the person that lands the killing blow absorbs the lifeforce of the pod pilot that was just killed (we'll also add some super-cool graphics display, like some kind of lightning cyno effect when the killing occurs)

Simply put, when you kill a pod, you absorb all of the pod pilots skills and SP

That ought to make the game more interesting

I await your vote

I don't think it would be terribly useful and yet helpful at the same time.

How it could actually work: If the Podded pilot's clone is NOT up to date, you should get his lost SP added to your Skill Point Pool.

that would be awesome. and from the fights I've been in it's generally the lower skilled players in fast locking frigs that take out pods so it would actually be a bit of a boon to them. but then there are pirates who would be able to train at crazy speeds.
but if it were going to be free re-assignable points it would have to have an expiry date or they could just save up and use them on whatever the new FOTM thing is.

Facepalm. Lol

Eve is about spaceships. Not superstition and magical hocus-pocus. SP tranfer due podkill. Roll
Perhaps the worst idea ever. Lol

SKIPPERMONKEY USES SARCASM...

...it is not very effective :(

Not very effective? Your proposal is this "superstition and magical hocus-pocus". What science is behind your "Skillpoint Transfer" due podkill? Getting the intelligence of your victim when you kill it is voodoo and not an explainable EvE-Science. Sorry for that. If you really try to be a member of the next CSM you should bring some better ideas.

But I will correct my statement concerning: "Perhaps the worst idea ever. Lol "
Maybe not the worst; but also not implement- or acceptable.

Perhaps I sound a little bit rude; but english is not my native language. Smile

with the commonly accepted idea of it only happening when they pod a pilot that's not up to date you could say that all pods have a capability to intercept the data transfer from the pod emergency transfer beacon that is used to make us immortal. when an un-updated clone dies, the data is sent but because the receiving end can only accept so much data it's rejected and the beacon keeps sending. and so the killers pod now notices the repeated signal and decides to go into reviving mode. since it doesn't have a long term storage built into the device itself it then puts that information into the pod pilots head.
I think this explanation would work as the information that we've been given about the emergency systems of the pod is still a bit fuzzy.

If someone's pod is not up to date, yeah lets get their SP for their stupidity. If not, then no.

Possible Scientific Explanation

When the Pod Pilot's consciousness gets transferred but their clone is insuffecient for their skillpoints, then the killer intercepts the subspace signal and captures the leftover skillpoints.

It would need a special skill though, and you could only capture a certain percentage per skill level. This way, it would be much harder to abuse.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

There would have to be a way to opt out. Maybe CCP could introduce an implant that would let you absorb a player's lost skillpoints, but it would allow other players to absorb your lost skillpoints.

You missed it. He admitted it a couple days ago, and then CCP Phantom deleted all the "off topic" posts, including those and all of the ones from other people saying it was a joke.
