Part of the reason we developed new forums was to enhance player experience with a better search feature, ease of use and ability to interact much more easily. The new EVE forums will continue to be developed so that we keep giving you more options to interact and chat with each other.

As Nyio correctly points out, EVE Search would be the best option for researching old posts and threads on the archived forums.
