It is difficult to find one's self when immersed in ideology. Consider this word, immersed. It is often used to describe the condition of being underwater, and environment to which human beings tend to be unsuited. While in this condition, it becomes difficult to see anything which lies at a significant distance from one's immediate vicinity. Additionally, there is, generally speaking, a danger of suffocation that goes with this.

While analogies can be limiting, they can also be enlightening.

There is an extent to which simple change of a political nature is not sufficient to improve the lot of humanity. Humanity drowns in ideologies that it often fails to properly consider.

As an enlightened individual recently told me, if one were to give all people sovereignty and independence and liberty, and whatever other political goals after which they seek, inevitably, people are still subject to the Ashulydah of nationalism and ignorance and the betterment of individuals is not achieved.

This experience is close to my heart. However, through time and consideration, I have come to see this:

The only thing that can truly free Intaki is the Ida.

When one follows the Ida, the world looks different. It’s a particular way of questioning what one sees and hears. When empowered by this state of mind, objective realities matter. These are the truths of the world that exist outside of whatever 'truths' asserted by one's belief system.

One objective reality is that our government doesn’t work, not because we have dysfunctional politicians, but because we have dysfunctional voters. My covenant with the Ida, my goal, then, is not to become President and lead a dysfunctional electorate, or try to convince the electorate to choose one leader or the other, but to enlighten the electorate so that they might choose the right leaders in the first place.

You seem like a reasonably intelligent individual, Mr. Tafren, which makes me wonder if you've taken your own words truly to heart. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not compelled to cross-examine your commitment to this Ida, but rather inclined to question the motives of a drowning man eager to drain an ocean. Neither a nation nor an idea makes a (wo)man terrible or great, but the deed (s)he does in their name.

Perhaps it's not the ocean but the movement of our feet that lets us down, hm? Blink

A very interesting message, as much for what it doesn't say as for what it does.

Namas Mr Tafren.

I enjoyed reading your musings and feel that your philosophical leanings could contribute much to the reconciliation of the Intaki people with their roots. I would very much like to speak with you at some point in the near future, be it in the flesh or via neocom. I am most pleased with the recent increase in thoughtful and contemplative posts on GalNet, and can only hope that the trend catches on in the mainstream capsuleer neocom channels.

Fly safe,

Indeed not. The betterment of humanity can only be found through Scripture and acts of faith.

Forgive the slightly tardy conveyance, but the sentiment remains: happy anniversary, from mine to yours.

To understand Ida is known one's own enlightenment and at once understand one's own ignorance. To be inspiration and guide others in Ida is to be both a master of contemplation and at once a student questioning. The pursuit enlightenment in all forms never ends, It is to know rebirth or heaven is not the destination but another path in a pilgrimmage that never ends.

To understand the Ida is to understand one's own enlightenment goes hand in hand with one's own ignorance.

While I won’t pretend to understand half of what Msr. Tafren is talking about in regards to religion or philosophy, and despite our occasional “political” differences in the past, I would like to personally welcome him and his into FCO.

I know our organization can be nothing but improved by his presence.
