that the question I wanted answered. How sure are you about this, because it sounds awesome. Although just how I can play dust on a ps3 with a mouse in the living room is a question. I think this will need some DIY work


a new teflon coated baking tray does just fine. saves buying them fancy low friction footpads for your mouse too. Big smile

Be happy it's not on PC. I love FPS shooters with a KB/M but once they're on the PC they become hacked immediately. You think you see a lot of anit-bot tears now? They pale when compared to "hacking" whines. Both in intensity and in frequency. It's a heck of a lot harder to modify the PS3 client to support wall hacks, auto aim's etc.

I have been skeptical about Dust thus far but intrigued. I had no intention of playing it without the KbM support but now that it's here I am pretty stoked.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

What?? You make no sense. Lets have a look at how stupid that comment was. MLG use to have Tekken fighting game where people used controllers OR a joy stick. MLG also has sc2 tournaments where every mouse and keyboard is different and set up to the players liking.

So the first link is just someone talking about the other two links. Second link is one where gamepad was the clear winner and the final one is one guy talking about him hearing it from another guy that the mouse+keyboard was the clear winner. Fascinating. You made it sound like you had dozens of examples, yet you have only two. And those are hardly anything to wave around as facts.

Seems you can't read.

The second one describes the controller as being as good as the KBaM, and only because of a simpler interface.

And the last one refers to several tests done by Microsoft which showed than without aim assists and other toys, controllers couldn't keep up with KBaM responsiveness.

Adding mouse support is a huge mistake...Lol oh boy, CCP, if you make a shooter for a console that uses a controller you have to design the game for a controller.

bah, whatever, love your concept but your game will fail horribly, Microsoft made a game I loved with cross platform where PC players had mouse and keyboard and we had controllers, guess what? game failed with thousands of people ranting about it making the game unfair.

Try not to take EvE Online with it when it sinks thank you.

And that to compensate people using the PS3 controller to play an FPS game, they are going to nerf the keyboard and mouse and/or buff the PS3 controller?

Auto aiming? srsly? with a game that has MT in it? srsly?

CCP, I thought we had an agreement on releasing information to your customers in a clear and concise manner.

How's this going to look around the playground when kids are comparing notes on upcoming online shooters? None of them are going to know which side to pick without fear of getting ridiculed for the remainder of their childhood....

Unless that is your plan, so in the future they will join EVE because their social life took a downturn and they come to you for another type of existence.

Well Sony are working with CCP, it wouldn't surprise me if the only mouse that works is a very expensive proprietary one (jk).

Currently the PS3 already works with nearly any USB or Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse. Though not all games support, the browser, any standardised text inputs and some of the console's main menus do.

EDIT: Oh wait., I just saw the "(jk)". Been beating down too many trolls lately >_<

having keyboard/mouse support would be a very bad thing(TM) if you needed to pony heaps of cash to buy each.


last time I checked you could buy a kboard and a basic mouse for half the price that a PS3 controller costs, if you don't want to re-use the ones you have attached to your pc rig, that is.








...unless you're playing in a laptop, in that case, well, screw you. better go shopping.

If this happens, no other FPS dev will have any excuse not to implement this.

And it might actually make dust not suck.

And as said, consoles are the IDEAL environment for a shooter - as long as you can use a M/K.
