Couldn't really think where was appropriate for this one, pardon if here isn't it.

If there is an I-Hub anchored in a system with no sov, and a different alliance takes sov, what happens to the existing i-hub?

Is it unanchored and scoopable? Does it have to be destroyed? Does it just poof?

Can't have an IHUB without a TCU. Can't attack the TCU until the IHUB is gone.

And if sov is just allowed to lapse?

If a sovereignty holder loses sovereignty over a system for some reason while still possessing an IH within the system, such as due to the upkeep bill going unpaid, then the IH will go offline and it cannot be onlined until sovereignty is regained.

Right, it's offline, but anchored.

My question is what occurs to it if someone else takes sov in that system.

To the op: Did u read the above post?

You'd have to destroy the ihub to get to the tcu which u need to destroy to online your own tcu which you need for sov.

if there is no tcu, and there is an ihub, you can kill the ihub, or leave it there for no difference.

You have to destroy the iHub to take the sov.

It would seem the advice you're receiving in this thread is misleading or wrong. An anchored ihub in a system has no bearing on sov whatsoever. They are remnants of an alliance that used to live there. Many systems in nullsec have multiple anchored ihubs that the alliances toggle between in order to meet the current demands of the system (such as whether or not they want to pay for a cyno jammer upgrade).

I regularly clean up anchored ihubs in nullsec that have been left behind by long dead alliances. You will also find anchored TCUs in systems from previous owners. Those can be killed as well. Sov structures that are only anchored but not online can be killed at any time, and they do not have bearing on sov grinding or sov timers.

You do not need to kill any anchored sov structures in order to claim sov in that system. It is only online sov structures that matter. As long as these left-over sov structures are anchored you cannot scoop them. You must get the corp that owns them to unanchor them, at which point you can scoop them, and launch them as your own.
