Is this fairly straightforward to do ? Or is it a right pain? In other words, is it worth the hassle?

Challenge is based on perspective, I find it easy. Others may find it hard.

Try reading this and see if you're going to run into any problems:

Directions to set up Sisi are nothing but a fairytale written by non Mac users who couldn't spell Mac without looking it up. Written by programmers who speak, write and think code so much they've forgotten how to communicate with the rest of the world.

Many of the things the instructions reference don't even exist in Mac language and never have.

Good luck.

Alright, got it figured out now - no thanks to the posted directions; while they have pertinent info required, poster doesn't know how to communicate in Mac, sub Java/Cocoa level: english to the rest of us. - or German, or Russian or other...

Go find a tall tree

Get a short piece rope

Tie one end to tree

Tie the OTHER end around your neck

Jump

It will be less painful than installing or otherwise messing with Mac SiSi

I imagine we will get a launcher right after we get a native client....ie NEVER

Based on the above, I'm not touching it with a barge pole. I'll wait till there's a SiSi launcher or something like that produced.

It's actually quite simple and basic. As you can tell from my previous posts, I'm not a programmer, but I was able to decipher the process - the main thing you need is for there to BE a patch offered to download which distinguishes test server from play; in other words, once they actually have something they want tested (new patch) it'll be offered for download and voila! you're set up.

That is, of course after you've downloaded or made copy of Tranquility, renaming it to distinguish it.

Cheers!Cool

I like to tell Devs that "I'm just a computer user, not a programer" when debugging stuff. So with that in mind I installed Sisi today and it as pretty simple. Just two downloads and a file rename.
