Why is CCP threating "ship spinning" like a terrorist demand?!

Topic says all. Any response from CCP regarding the subject sounds like as if we (the customers) are some sort of terrorist organisation holding someone ransom and making demands.

In fact, from my point of view, they are terrorizing us, as it sounds more like: "BUY OUR NEX" or u'll never see your hangar again!!

Any vehicular simulation/game has some sort of workshop/hangar, Im not only talking about flight/space sims, take a look at need for speed f.ex, you have a workshop where you see your car with oil stains on the floor, toolbox in the background etc, it all adds to the immersion.

I ordered french fries and ur practically delivering me onion rings, and not like the burger king strategy of mixing one in the fries as an appetizer, no, CCP, you replaced the whole box with onions, and are now claiming that you never intended to sell french fries in the first place, "I am simply not the right customer for your onion rings".

Well for one, we were promised an 'alternative' to ship-spinning back when Incarna was released some three months ago. (even tho we were also threatended that WiS would eventually not have an off-setting so we'd be forced to use it).

Three months and we still have no ship spinning alternative. Wasn't that statement coming joint with CSM? What does the CSM has to say about this, they like to have their name on a broken promise? P

CCP are indeed treating us like terrorists. It's like we have ransom demands and CCP try delay us so they can drop a SWAT-team on our ass.

Why has some (insert a not so nice word here) has to bring up the stupid ship spinning argument every day?

....as if 10,058 Goon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced.

a) it hasn't happened yet, and it's been three months, so until it happens it's just :words: and bullshit (plus CCP have lied before)

b) torfi has also posted before that the option will be temporary, the quote from his post does not take back that statement, it just post about what's under work. I.e., they might very well release this ship-spinning option he's talking about, and then X months later they completely remove it and make WiS mandatory. As that is their intention, as stated previously (and not yet taken back, as far as I know, and it makes sense as well if you consider it.. why develop WiS and release it as a major expansion if noone is gonna use it? Better to just force it on everyone to make it a vital part of the player experience).

Ship spining or better, ship-centric hangar environment was a favourite to many EVE players.

The current state is a character centric room with a hangar view. Its not like an upgrade from monochrome to color television, the functionality and immersion of ship-centric hangar is gone, replaced.

Im confused as to why in hell CCP did it the way they did it (this was supposed to be a grandious expansion).. put a big red station button [ENTER CAPTAINS QUARTERS] and everyone will click on it, right now no one wants anything superimposed on them while taking away their favourite toy. THEY really need to find someone who knows how to communicate with customers.

P.S. dont post bs I do bite (report).

I believe the GM's are. I don't believe for a second Hilmar or Soundwave is. In fact, everything they say and do prove otherwise.

The more important question is why is the OP treating ccp like they're treating ship spinning like a terrorist demand.

Get a grip on reality and stop being an ass, it is just so wrong to yell "terrorist" in this context and is an insult to anyone who ever died from or fought against terrorism.

We asked for it back, they said they would give it back to us and are working on intergrating it with the new game engine, i see nothing there treating us liek terrorists, infact i see them agreeing to do what we ask. If they were acting like we were terrorists you'd ahve homeland security or whatever organising is responsible in our own countries knocking on the door.

tl;dr don't use the phrase terrorist in any other context than it's proper use, it's just wrong.

This thread has already been linked above, but please let me refer you to these two posts by CCP t0rfifrans that outline the situation with ship spinning / old hangar view.

P.S. Fries or onion rings? I'd take both.

Really, all in good humor? Sorry but I fail to spot the humor in your post, in fact it sounds exactly like the truckload of previous hysteric posts about this and related topics jumping down CCP's throat.

I honestly could care less about ship spinning. Yes, it was a neat gizmo. No, I didn't lose any important functionality, and I'd much rather see CCP work on important stuff, it's not like there's a lack of it. But hey, if there's a tiny chance CCP reintroducing the hallowed hangar will shut you people up, I'm all for it.

Because you could simply drag ships into the hangar, or double click the background to open your cargo, or right click your ship etc etc. CQ took it all away.

I know (from a study that I cant quote now) there are different types of players, some cant be immersed unless they see themselves in the environment, these are the ppl that rather have more emphasis on the CQ and WiS, because without it they cant feel part of EVE. Which is fine but not at the cost of destroying what was already there.. I was in space, in some sort of goo and now Im fully clothed with make up and hair done etc, once I pressed dock.

Instead of:
Space -> Room
I prefer:
Space -> Hangar -> Room

Anyway I got my answers and glad CCP is reconsidering this, since previous stance on the topic was "Its dead Jim".

CCP : Here you go guys. This is your new Captains Quarter. It introduces you to WiS and lays the formwork for us to build our immersive out of pod experience that you have all been crying for for years. Everything you could accomplish in the old hangar can be achieved in the new hangar just as quickly through a combination of keyboard shortcuts, menus and holograms. Your ship even spins by itself now.

Players : Wahhhhhh. I can't spin my ship! I can't double click the background to open cargo! I can't tell which ship I have active without taking 1 second to turn 180 degrees. We want old hangar back now!

CCP : %$#$@! Ok fine, we'll work out a way to incorporate ship spinning from the now obsolete architecture of the ship hangar into the new CQ.

Players : Wahhhh! Why's it taking so long! Why aren't the dev's fixing FW!
