I fly the Nemesis and i am still largly a noob with it(i dont even have torp lvl 5 with it sad face..). Yet almost everyone i know says that it is a terrible ship. They always hold the hound and manti in such high standing and leave the Nemesis with the Amarr sb in a "useless ship section". Now i know im a noob but thermal damage is a great type and i have no real issues with my Nemesis, so if any vets know why the hound and manti are the = "better ships" please explain this to me

Thanks!

p.s any modern fittings that work will be usefull :)

Nemesis is good, people also like the Hound. In general, people seem to like anything except the Manticore.

People love the Hound because Minmatar Frigate 5 is the best 5, and they love the Nemesis because Thermal is the best damage type.

People don't like it because there's no positive reason to fly it. Thermal damage from the Nemesis hits t2 Armor very well and is the best overall damage type; Explosive damage from the hound hits t1 Armor very well, and Minmatar ships are fun in general; EM damage from the Purifier hits the shield resistance hole that a lot of ratters and even some PVP ships have; that leaves the Manticore, whose Kinetic damage bonus is not particularly useful against anything. One could argue that it's the "best" damage type to shoot at a properly-tanked Shield Fleet, but you're going to see a lot of shield-fit ships where Kinetic is not their weakest resist (most ships who don't specifically fit EM/TH hardeners and Invulnerability Fields).

Hound is also damn easy to fit, while Manticore is a ***** to do.

But short answer, is Nemesis good? All SB's are, and Nemesis isn't the worst.

To be perfectly honest, though, if your target was GoonSwarm Federation ships such as our Welpfleet or Alphafleet doctrines, Manticores are your best choice for stealth bombers to use against us. Since our doctrines mandate that our ships be fit with one or more Invulnerability fields, as well as hardeners and/or rigs to supplement the EM/TH resistance, Kinetic is actually the damage type against which we tank the least well. This is probably not something that I should be advertising to the general public in straight language, but the information is out there if you just browse our loss mails and plug the fits into EFT.

Ok, tried to post this earlier, but the new forums ate it so i'll summarize.

For solo pvp, it depends on the region, in sansha/bloodraider space, the hound and manticore are king, because the ratters there will be weak vs. those damage types, in angel/drone lands the nemesis is king, because typically their resist hole is thermal.

For just general throwing bombs at people, all of the bombers are basically the same, only difference is the hound aligns a little faster.

For small gang pvp, the hound and purifier are the best, with the hound being the superior of the two. The purifier has a little more buffer, but the hound is faster, and has a smaller sig (so it isn't hit as often or as hard). The reason they are better than the manticore an nemesis is mostly because of damage type, but the nemesis and manticore also lack the third low, which harms damage mods and the all important co-processor and agility mods you'll want to fit for t2 launchers and to avoid dieing as much as possible.

Why is the manticore better than the nemesis? They're essentially the same aside from damage type, but the manticore has a bit more cpu, which is very important for stealth bombers in general (see the 88 cpu usage of t2 launchers >_<) so you're often forced to fit t1 mods to make it work.

As for fits, here's my solo hound fit:

[Hound, Hound Setup 1]
Ballistic Control System II
Dread Guristas Co-Processor
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Gistii B-Type 1MN Afterburner
Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron
Warp Disruptor II

Siege Missile Launcher II, Bane Rage Torpedo
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Siege Missile Launcher II, Bane Rage Torpedo
Bomb Launcher I, Shrapnel Bomb
Siege Missile Launcher II, Bane Rage Torpedo

Small Bay Loading Accelerator I
Small Warhead Calefaction Catalyst I

702 dps overloaded (you never should not be), 996m/s(1300 overloaded), 6.3 sec align time

I didn't have a solo nemesis fit, since it's the only one I can't fly yet, but here's something I made on the fly:

[Nemesis, Solo Nemesis]
Ballistic Control System II
Dread Guristas Co-Processor

Faint Warp Disruptor I
Phased Muon Sensor Disruptor I
Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron
Gistii B-Type 1MN Afterburner

Siege Missile Launcher II, Inferno Rage Torpedo
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Siege Missile Launcher II, Inferno Rage Torpedo
Bomb Launcher I, Scorch Bomb
Siege Missile Launcher II, Inferno Rage Torpedo

Small Bay Loading Accelerator I
Small Warhead Calefaction Catalyst I

722 dps overloaded, 832m/s(1084 overloaded), 8.5 sec align time.

Note the lack of t2 disruptor ^^

These are solo fits (because that's what I use mine for 99% of the time) so they're a little pimped out, but they should give you a general idea of where to go. For regular pvp typically you will want to drop damage mods for agility/speed, some people go for tank, but with sigs under 50, i think that's usually kind of dumb (although the purifier can MAYBE pull it off a little bit). Also, if you're just bombing a lot, swap the AB for a micro, as it will make getting through gatecamps much easier.
