Hey all,

Pretty new to PI and was wondering which ship is best geared towards using for PI. I just need a jumping off point. Any advice helps. Thanks in advance. Cool

depends on where you intend to build your collonies how many and if you're producing from raw materials or that you by your T1/T2 products and go from there.

in high sec every industrial wil do though large quantities will atracked gankers.

in low sec and hostile 0.0 you'll need a Cloaky Blockade Runner.

Make waypoints at atleast 150 km of the costum offices scan out the area. prepare all transfers, open cargo hold. warp to office exchange goods warp out and cloak. can be done in about 5 to 10 seconds of exposure.

last tip don't walk in to the trap of going for max cargo space. your Blockade runner needs to be fast and agile above all.

Ships you can move stuff with in the systems you are using.

In HighSec a T1 hauler should be fine, normally, in Low/NullSec maybe a Blocade Runner would be better...

Ah yes forgot to specify space. Low/Null sec is what ill be doing PI in but no idea what materials ill be harvesting. Ill look into Blockade runners. Thanks for the info thus far.

I use this:

Crane:

High

- Covert-ops Cloaking device.

med

- YT8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon Microwarpdrive (name changed last update)
- Invunrability Field II
- Invunrability Field II
- Medium Shield Booster

(Aside from the MDW I don't realy use the midslots)

Low

- Nanofiber Internal structure II
- Nanofiber Internal structure II

(there is some debate on Inerta stabilisers instead of Nano's: stabilisers give more inertia, though nano's give speed as well and the increased signature you get from the stabilisers, will get you locked faster. so in my opinion you should go for the Nano's)

Rigs.

Medium Low Froction Nozzle Joints I
Medium Low Froction Nozzle Joints I

If you get caught in this you'll be so ashamed of your self you'll probably don't dare to talk about it. : )

cargo is only about 4300 M3 I usualy collect at the first station in high sec, then reship in a larger ship, to the desired trade hub.

Wrote a longer post than net crashed :)

I use Viator in lowsec regurarly, basically Mike's fit minus shield booster, meta 4 nanofbers, and a cargohold expander. Expander reduces maximum speed making you reach that 75% speed a bit quicker I think. Rigs are for added agility.

Cargohold is enough to pick up 6 planets worth of PI, and it is very nimble, you are like a shadow.

Have no experience with nullsec yet.

Nullsec has - bubbles and you easily get caught and shot down even in cloaky hauler...

In lowsec - only way to catch a hauler is if he has some lag issues...

I.

Edit:

When it comes down to transporting stuffz you cant say "low/null" because those are as different as they can be...
Safest way to carry stuff in null is -> carrier / JF... do PI somewhere where you have lowsec jump in 1-2 ly, then use whatever cloaky ship to carry stuff out...
If you have a JF - its easy :)

Actually safest way to carry stuff in null is to use cloaked blockade runner(s) which you move around with a black ops bridge. Much less volume than the JF though that's for sure.
