OK i have an ALphanado and i want to sacrifice it.

what can these beasts EASILY (pretty much guaranteed> kill?

I will be picking targets wisely, looking for uber tank and shinies via ship scan by an alt

It can take on uber tanked Tengus no sweat. They're only uber tanked when active tanking! Just lock'em up in your favorite mission hub, shoot'em and scoop the many billions in loot!

Protip: the hard part about ganking isn't killing your target, it's getting their loot before the vultures descend.

It can hit about 11k alpha, give or take a bit depending on skills, fit, implants, and the other ship's resist profile.

Oddly enough, if you can land on top of the target, the talos is actually a much more efficient gank ship, able to put out about about the same damage as a tornado alpha in its first two volleys (about 4 seconds), and do that twice before the nado gets a second shot off.

* as long as damage type selection isn't important.

Problem with using a Talos is that unless you sit at the outgate and attack something on AP you probably will have range/tracking issues. Apart from that lack of damage type selection as mentioned above.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Because im curious... What's a good plan? probe out in covops, scan ship for shinies... warp in Alpha? Or warp in a dessie to tackle and alpha? Or just hangout side a station after finding a target and attempt to pop em?

Or maybe incursions?

Im thinking in realms of mission ships with pimped up gear etc. I dunno why but reading liangs reply on punting tengus has seriously intrigued me.

Fairly simple, you get 6-9 Instalock Nados, use EM or Explosive rounds. Instalock and pop a Tengu. If the drops are decent, you'll spend 350m to earn 2b.

and if drops are bad.
350mil out for 100 mil drop total.

Moral of the story don't gank blind.
get someone in a passive targeting, ship and cargo scanning rifter/kestrel to check out the target first .

Fear not. Even if they read this there will still be plenty of shiny tengus that wouldn't think twice about some bs with 1400s and sebos running next to a gate they frequent. Plus, how will they see them when they are on ap and afk? And don't tell me no one runs tengus on auto while afk in highsec, cause i've seen many of them.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I know very well what 1400's Maels or gank Tornados can do to Tengus, believe me I'm shooting those in null and they have a lot more EHP than the regular one you cross in high sec, now if you manage to get it in 1 voley with Quacke the guys is really unskilled afk hardeners off etc but sure it's possible.

Thing is that gank blind finishes in a few hilarious sentry Kill maels/pest/whatever, OC I'm aware that my Tengu can be ganked but I say props/lol to that, you're going to burn a lot of isk to get it down for a miserable isk return. This is the point and the only valid point that makes me like the real gankers for profit because those are not just pawns shooting whatever, they have strategies they have skills and never waste effort for peanuts unlike pawns.

But yes I'm aware that nothing in new Eden is invulnerable to ganks and if you put the necessary effort it takes a few seconds, it's valid from frigates to titans Blink
