NeX isnt fine as it is, there needs to be either a fix or a removal. I am one of the ones who think it can be fixed to be worth the effort in adding in more items related to it.

NEX can't be fixed because is nothing wrong with it, there is no good/bad NEX. It is an Item Mall just like all others and it should be removed from EVE, in my opinion. It does not fit in this game.

You are entitled to your opinion, and I respect it.

People also don't want walmart in their neighborhood. And Adult Book Stores stores. And ***** bars. And they open them anyway and they prosper. So for CCP as a company to ignore that would be counterproductive.

To support this point:

NeX store - You are not allowed to dress up, act out and record your adult indulgences - you can only buy this material at the Adult Store!

That would be rubbish!!

EDIT - top of page again \o/

I agree, they need to just drop them.

I think linking Plex to Aurum was a mistake (or a blatant attempt at sinking PLEX's out of the economy, or both). I don't have any problem with WiS fluffies being based on an alternate microtransaction currency (especially if WiS is the point of interaction with DUST players, which is all microtransaction based) but it shouldn't be linked to PLEX to ISK, rather it should be purchasable directly and tradable after that.

Nutshell:

People playing EvE use ISK. Playing playing DUST use Aurum. Aurum is tradable for ISK but only spawns when someone buys it. It'd be like other games' RMT currencies that way. Remove the link between PLEX and Aurum entirely.

Replace aurum with ISK?

You'd have to do that, or lots of people with unused Aurum will be unhappy. They never refunded learning skill books because of the release of isk into the economy. I imagine this will be much worse so it'll be interesting to see how they do it. Another solution would be to extend account subscriptions by the days and hours they represent as a fraction of PLEX.

The idea of paying real money for items, even an item that doesn't affect gameplay, isn't the way forward. I understand that other games have been able to make more money for it, but it's still distasteful. Right now, it's clothing items. It will be more later if it's not taken care of now. As these games age, and new people come along from the other games that have these MT stores, they will expect Eve to have one, and if it does they will expect to be able to buy "special" things.

If this is at all successful, there will be "special" things. You and I may not be here, but "special" things will be. I hate slippery slope arguments, but in my gaming experience, once the store is in, it's in. And it will expand.

tl:dr, Destroy it with evil intent and allow players to make the items.

Take arrows in the forehead, never the back

Anything that could, should or would be purchasable with aurum need only be available for isk, or evenly available to all for free.

The nex store doesn't belong in eve, the only way to make it better is to retire it to the eve wiki as an unread footnote.

I don't have any problems with Nex Store, to me is as if it doesn't exist, took a glance at it when it came out and that was it.

I do wonder why so many people went with it... However its there choice, anyone is free to do what he/she wants with their money.

In the end I see Next as something that brought into the game a whole lot of welders, just saying...

What if a dog was called a cheeseburger? What if a cheeseburger was called an obstacle course? What if an obstacle course called me on my smartphone???? The world is full of mysteries.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I rather have a walmart open than a kmart though. Which is the main thing I am trying to discusses here though. We got a really bad store that makes alot of people angry and possibly even quit and move on.

Question I am asking though where can we fix it. What sort of sales/sevrices/smiles with the products can we make to be a bit more welcoming and not destroy the whole town.

Sure there will be the ones that always want to burn the walmarts down like in that one computer foresnics case I had to practice on, but at least I want them to be buying the materials to burn it down with from wallmart, oh the irony.

You don't have much too do, do you...?

Try getting out of the house more often, you will see real people for a change... All these pixels are not good to your health, just saying...

Apology accpeted, I just have an over active mind thinking of ideas all the time when they be eve, things for myself or how to fix my latest problems my customers bring to my work load and now college trying to get ahead of the professors.

If I worked at CCP for a day I can probably spend weeks at a post it board containing every single paper cut I can find in the game and making post it note for each.

As for the updates to the topic from other threads and updates I picked up on.

'Aurum' is to stay it seems Dust 514 is using it as its micro transaction currency. However its quite possible to make the things into microplexes still by merging them and forcing token turn ins.

Team Avatar was formed up its a 5 man team they're working on finishing started but unfinished for launch content on incarana, this to me translates into captain quaters functionaility and papercuts. Essentially no big major incanra updates for the next year.
-Source: Eve online, general discussion, CCP please update us on the status of WiS.

CCP is rethinking NeX store deployment however may not touch it until 'ambulation' aka incarna 2.0 is released in attempt to paint it in proper colors. - CSM Minutes.
