It's coming up on six years since I started playing and posting on the EVE forums, and I'm yet to see anybody start a thread like this one that's NOT a non-issue.

making someone cool in one of your games and putting it in the other isnt bad, the problem is they put something lame in this game that we are forced to use...

Ah, the full potential of Incarna has now been realized. Look everyone, a vendor....with an avatar.....fascinating and so cutting edge.

Bloodlines was good, as in one of the better PC titles that year.

Deus Ex was great, as in one of the top five games of all time, all genres, all platforms.

Are you qualified to state such or just read it in an industry promoting mag?

I'm equally qualified to state that as the previous poster. If not more, I used to be GM in (another) MMO and I got family/friend working in the game industry!11!!2

But that's like saying the janitor at Valve is qualified.

Bloodlines was pretty mediocre compared to Deus Ex. Speaking of Deus Ex, the recent iteration of the series is pretty amazing. Sleeper hit of the year I think.

All this "wod benefits EVE" stuff... EVE = spaceships = how does sitting on a couch benefit that?

*yawn* Seen that post sooo many times, please change the record.

There will always be cross over, the main one at the moment (because there is feck all else) is the rewriting of the code so it can be modified better than the old code could be.

Yes that means lots of bugs at the moment, but it will get better and allow easier.....additions.

Ever since they started rewriting the code, client-side performance has gotten shot to hell. I was excited when they were first talking about what they were doing... then less so as patch after patch client-side performance got worse and worse. That tells me that whatever they are doing, they are doing it for themselves, not for the customer. Even with incarna fully implemented to where it can be responsibly abandoned, EVE is still a spaceship game, and anything you could do with incarna would be more efficient and effective with window interfaces.

Pretty much. And when you think of it:
* WiS was mentioned (so past the 'suggestion' board) at FanFest 2006ish?
* The "Incarna" expansion has zero content for WiS. It's just a room with a door and a couch and lag and bugs.

So until we get proper content, WiS is just a dream/vision that adds nothing to the game. Potential or no potential.

Made me laugh. Big smile

Never got the whole emoscene so "original" and independent it became mainstream marketing.

But hey there has to be money in it.

And we may hate it but it will diversify the customer base for CCP.

I believe CCP will follow through with expanding Incarna. I just think they bit off more than they could chew with trying to add an avatar system to a spaceships only game.

This winter expansion should hopefully silence some of the rampant criticism over Incarna. I'm sure you'll still have your monotrolls, but I think once CCP gets establishments in and refocuses on FiS we'll see less space barbie posts :)
